I also thing that Ref should have a Special Ops patch. Refs work hard to keep our sport fair & safe, and they desrve recognition.

I know the perfect guy for this....
He brought to a walk on field a wooden sword (like the Halloween ones, sort of looks real but wooden), dressed in all black, seriously looked like a ninja minus the face mask and a holstered pistol....
During a charge, he led the point as others laid cover fire, sword held high yelling. The best part is he got some people to surrender

Arrow (in the theme of melee names ) - a forward recon class. not deep "behind enemy lines", but well ahead of the main force. we usually have ours about 40-60 feet ahead
Stormtrooper (there go the names, lol)- the type to relentlessly assault a fortified position. very useful.
I'm also all for hybrid classes.

Javelin is the heavy ordinance specialist that uses everything from Grenades to LAW rockets to mines. Anything and everything that isn't a marker that throws paint is this guy's favorite. Shotguns anyone?
Halberd is something that my team uses. It's essentially a combination of Dagger, Broadsword and Ambush. The Dagger elements are a taste for the close up and personal, the Broadsword ability to spray and pray, and the Ambush ability to appear and disappear suddenly with or without the use of ghille. What separates this from being a very ambiguous Saber is the willingness to charge an enemy position. I have a person on my squad that is a Broadsword but will go forward and hide, then pop out and charge three or four guys and take them all out because they're surprised. The Charge is enough in my opinion to support its own position.

1. Medic - Self explanatory role I beleive. I think I like "Shield" for this one.
2. Special Operations - Does anything from laying mines to shooting big fat bazookas, to penetrating enemy lines and gathering intelligence. I have no idea what to call this position. I did like a previous post where they were called "pathfinders" however, I think this narrows the idea of the exact nature of special operations. About the only thing I could think up was "Katana". In my opinion this would probably be the most played / popular position going. Everyone wants to be a "SF" operator.
3. Vehicle crewman or just Crewman. - Once again a self explanatory role. Crewman could cover everything from Pilot to cannon loader. It's pretty vague and non-specific. Maybe just call this one "Armor" or something of the like.
just my humble suggestions. Have a great day, and I look forward to some more suggestions.

Just my opinion
That's a very good point that should be taken seriously.
I voted for the Engineer position, but Javelin is good too. In the end I'd like to see Javelin, Halberd, and Scout fill those three areas. However, shouldn't the poll have been set up with three different voting sections so you could give a vote for your three favorite positions? And are these even SpecOps endorsed ideas, or did you just slap them on there yourself?
