An engineer would be cool but its not really a realistic position. I know that it was only stated in the title but digging trenches? I've dug trenches and basements and it takes a lot longer then your average woodsball game.

I'd choose:
Tank hunter
Grenadier

There doesn't have to be three spots cause you can always add onto it whenever you feel like it. Two is good for now in my opinion.

Alright, members of The Special Ops Brigade, it is now time for you to express your opinion and let your voice be heard. There are three new available slots for positions which means it's up to us to choose these three. Think carefully about what goes on in paintball, what needs to be official and what can be incorporated into a pre-existing position. This is for us, we can count for something and be a part of
Spec-Ops history, dont let the oppurtunity pass you by, vote now.
I beleive that one of the new positions should be feeld with:Scout  , I also like the Tank hunter. :(

I like Javelin , but also think that "Ghost Flanker" could be it's own position by using a dagger style setup but with tigerstripe camo to conceal both outline and movement.

Honestly...a scout/recon position and then of course, counter sniper/spotter position would be ideal.

Scout/Recon:
Brief Description/Prerequisits: Fast and mobile; somebody who can traverse ahead and inform the team commander what lies ahead such as enemy positions, troop movements, etc., etc. They would need great concealment and the ability to travels fast, light, and deep into enemy territory. Has to avoid getting into gun fights unless absolutely mandatory for survival.
Equipment: A radio, a pistol, binos and maybe GPS; anything that weighs them down is a no-go.

Counter-Sniper/Spotter:
Brief Description/Prerequisits: There is no such thing as a "lonewolf sniper". Every sniper has a spotter, which is the reason that sniper teams are so deadly and effective. The spotter will travel with the sniper, using the same concealment as the sniper and call out possible targets with ranges. They provide support to the sniper if the teams cover is blown. The sniper then only has to concentrate on one thing...the feel of the trigger pull. It helps if they are/were a sniper, and the both of them can trade off to keep their own skills sharp.
Equipment: Their own long gun and sidearm, a radio, spotting scope/binos, and an iron will; once again, anything that weighs them down is a no-go.

Those are the two positions that I would love to see setup. I know they were already mentioned, but those are the only two positions that can be completely independent of resembling the current positions. Imagine how effective they would be.
"Blessed be the Lord my strength, who teacheth my hands to war, and fingers to fight." Psalm144:1
Checklist For Newb Team Commanders:
[ ] If your attack is going really well, be weary, it's probably an ambush.
[ ] If you make it too tough for the enemy to get in, you're probably not getting out.
[ ] If you are out of absolutely everything except the enemy, you are in combat.
[ ] Keep your head down and never inadvertently draw fire; it irritates everybody around you.

guys. you have it ALL wrong.

stop thinking about positions for humans.

the mole pack.
the mole pack is a four battery energizer battery that attaches to your hopper, radio and anything electrical. the mole pack is run by four hamsters tierlessly running for there life.

the pod pup: discussed the the GD area the pod pup is reliable dog for any position, able to carry up to eight pods the pop pup can lighten your load.
hiss kitty: this angry abused kitten is placed anytime anywere. it will hiss. and voilently attack any player stupid enough to try to flank you while you stand behind the blue barrel in the open. ( best used for defence. do not carry, or re-deploy)

In my opinion. there is no such things as positions. but the original positions that spec ops created pretty much cover every area of the squad. not much is left to squeze in

[edit note: i always type in caps...i dont consider it rude... its blocky...i like blocky]

ok...so i posted prematurely and didn't go back and read the other 15 or so pages...who would want to? you just wanna put your two cents in without listening to what other people have to say right? i did...so now im back to fix my mistake...AND IMPROVE!!![i was shouting there]

my positions are as follows:

Engineer: [PEDES ABYSSUS "WALKING HELL"] this is the guy responsible for taking out the tank and setting landmines/booby traps and such, he can also repair or revive a tank from either side [if its the enemies tank it becomes your tank...but you need a pilot to be able to drive it unless you are a tank pilot too]

Tank Pilot: [VOLUBILIS FORMIDO "ROLLING TERROR"] meet the god of the paintball field, this guy is licensed to kill manning the most sophisticated piece of equiptment out on the field, he can cover EVERYTHING in paint and is nearly invincible less the spot on sniper that can nail the 2 by 2 square on the fender or the brave engineer who launches a rocket onto one of his side panels...there isnt much that can stop him...and with his armaments...thats an overstatement

Referee: [ET CENSOR "TO JUDGE"] this guy has the most responsibility and probably the least fun...but someone has to do it...this guy is the keeper of the peace, the judge, the jury, and the final word...what he says goes...and he isnt biased either....he keeps the game fair and fun for the rest of us...

those are my three [not 100% mine...i combined a few to make room for a few with the input i got from everyone from reading their responses...THANKS!!!]...and they are the best three imho...

[second edit: fixed my sig thanks for not warning me...but doesnt the rule say 2 lines with pic? i count 5 on yours...maybe im mistaken...idk...]

please DO NOT TYPE IN CAPS. It is considered very rude to type in all caps. You aren't shouting, so don't type like that. Also, your sig is oversized. Please refer to the guidelines in my sig on it. You have too many lines of text. Please lose one or condense them somewhat.

I think it would be great to have a Grenadier as well as a Ref position.

Just for kicks, heres my opinion. I like the Ghost Flanker and Scout positions. First, yeah I know all the arguments for/against having new positiions, the SO positions in general....just humor me. I like the Ghost because it is much more proactive then the Ambush Sniper. I think it's a little more practical in those home games where you can't really set ambushes and whatnot. Like I said, more proactive.

And the Scout I guess would run light as the daggers, probably run with a grenade or two and I think partial ghillie would have to in there as well. At least this way the Scout has a grenade to get out of a sticky situation quick, the light load will give them less weight/noise and the ghillie can help them blend in with the enviro a little better than a typical dagger.

I think it would be great to see these two be added to the position lineup. I know that each of the new proposed positions should be part of the regular woodsballer's skill set, but these guys are top dog in what they do, their own specialties. That's my opinion, do with it what you will.

The existing positions are pretty broad why not just and another broad category like "specialist" to cover engineers, tank hunters, medics and such? no one of these gets enough use to be a position on its own but combined it would make more sense!

southeast brigade patches coming soon! Archanglmikel's feedback

Ghost Flanker: a diff kind of sniper that would also act as a recon unit
Medic: has the ability to "heal" wounded players and would carry a saber or dagger gun with a small supply of paint to keep him light on his feet
Engineer: Would encompass anything having to do with "explosives". he would use a rocket launcher in games that include tanks but would switch over to grenades when playing without tanks. i know a guy that has a "waterballon slingshot" he doesnt play paintball but this thing can throw anything from water ballons to swedish meatballs a considerable distance. something like that could be used with grenades to become something like a mortar.
