My question is where are all these rules people keep talking about? Last I checked there was no set rules on what kind of hit's counted in general paintball. If you got some why not show us?

It depends, if you decide before you go and play, if gun hits count.

I play at two different fields. One field counts gun hits and the other doesn't. I think it all boils down to whatever the "house rules" are.

Personally, I think gun hits should count. We're playing tag with markers, not war with guns.
Maintainence" should be routine. (cleaning and lubrication) In all fairness, most "maintainence" " problems" can be avoided by getting it set-up right and leaving it alone. (true for most any paintgun) Something that I have learned over the years it that, "The more that you mess with it, the more you will have to mess with it."

If it is attached to you or another player when you start the game you should count it.

And those people who say a gun hit would not kill you in real life, have you ever heard of a MAGAZINE? it is a part of the gun... It holds BULLETS that explode...Explosions kill....see where I am getting at? Try and shoot a bullet and see what happens.......Good luck!

I agree with Enders war, a "gun-hit" should not count as an elimination (in woodsball, SB is different). My reasoning falls along the lines that if one plays true woodsball, it is meant to be "to some extent" a simulation of actual combat. If your M-16 or AK-47 were to take a hit, it is not likely to be damaged to a point of dysfunction, let alone cause you any bodily harm. It is actually a clever survival tactic to position your marker in a way so as to provide some protection. In addition to the above, I would also like to draw attention to the fact that the hopper is a bona fide "pain in the DUMPER" when gun hits count, I mean it is impossible to fire without esposing it and it just a MASSIVE target.

Thats all I have to say about that...

Um I when I play hopper hits are very very few..and guns getting shot is bad as far as I know, but if they can hit your gun they can hit you ,face it guys! take the hit and suck it up you will be in on the next round soon.

I think that gun hits count in everything but rec-ball when noobs are plying, then i dont count it.
You gas up the marker, put on the gloves, strap on the mask, and walk onto the field.. it doesn't matter that you failed a test, that your girlfriend broke up with you last nite, or that you got a ticket on the way there.. your world is right for the next couple hours, this is your heaven on earth.. live it.. love it.. Paintball 4 life..

Gun hits should defiantly not count in woodsball. Like Headshot said, woodsball is more war based that speedball and you wouldn't die from a shot to the gun. However, in speedball it should be fair because the size of your target is very small and it balances it out.

yea, gun/gear hits should count, no matter if your playing woodsball or speedball. if you are hit in the gun that means that the other player was good enought to hit you, or you did something u shouldnt have and gave a player an angle on you. if you get hit in the gun, call out.

In reality if you were hit in the fun your gun would be toast and by the way if it was'nt counted the people with the huge scenario guns would use em as a shileld or stickem over a bunker and look through a crack at you

when we play local games we dont make gun hits count, in the senarios that we attend a hit anywhere is counted. so its all up to the field.

One of our local fields don't count Guns hits, Hits below the Elbow, OR Hits below the knee. I have since added some stuff onto my gun to make it larger :D

When we play outlaw on our field, it varies. Apparently it has "always" been no guns hits, but I know I've gone out on them. Hell, I've hit a guy in the remote line (was sticking out from the tree) and he went out. Outlaw we usually decide when we go out there.

The other field we go to, everything counts. I like that field. :D
My job is to be an asshole. I excel at the position.

i belive if your just playing out in the woods or speed then no, a gun hit should not count, but if your playing in a scenario game then yes im all for it. it would add realizim to the game. take an M16 and put a 9mm to it. pick up the m16 and try and fire it. usually when a real gun is hit, its history.
