HEY THIS IS SPEEDY GUN UM IS THIS A GOOD BARREL FOR MY TIPPMANN 98 OR IS IT TO LONG

Product Name: Smart Parts Tactical Rifled Barrel
Product ID: 5303

Manufacturer: Smart Parts

Description: This new tactical barrel is long, accurate, and quite which makes it perfect for milsim and woodsball play. It is 20 inches in length, straigh ported, stiff arbor honed, and ceramic and teflon coated.
Price: $34.99

Barrel Threading Impulse Tippman A5 Tippman 98

Qty:

not really the right thread for this question, but, here goes. 20" is really going to be too long, you won't really get any extra range from it, it will waste more gas, and have fun continually trying to get untangled in the brush. most sources agree that 12"-14" is all you really need. secondly, porting. PORTING PORTING PORTING PORTING. probably the number one way to quiet down a 98 somewhat is a heavily ported barrel. ive heard good thing about the j&j's and they're not very expensive. personally i use a smart parts progressive and i love it.

A 20'' allows you to put 20'' of brush between you and your attacker. You can shoot him and see him, but he can't shoot you or see you. Look at it that way. If you are going to be ambushing, especially on defense when you have ample time, a longer barrel will do you more good. However if you are ghost flanking you might want a 14'' barrel. In terms of gas usage, with Tippmanns and Spyders they release the same amount of gas no matter what. When you chrono them, it just moves the blocker out of the way like a water spiget. On my Ion, 4 inches of ported barrel is only 5 fps difference. Get the 20'' JJ Ceramic for ambushing, or the 14'' or 16'' for ghost flanking.

^^^

I personally like 16" for ghost flanking.

Some people say there is no such thing as a paintball sniper. That means we must be doing our job.
Infantry soldiers die in vain for a thousand shots. A sniper dies for the one shot that will change history.

awsome post but after reading a few forums running up the middle might not be that bad if there is cover because it seems everyone is going off the sides so why not surprise them that is what abeing a sniper is all about anyway. i mean if you can take out even 1 guy then that area was a worth while time but after you better run CAUSE FIVE OF HIs BUDDIES ARE CHASING YOU WITH REALLY BIG GUNS :(

:D you dont see me :ghillie: ohhh %*#& :panzer: RUN its after us

be really sneaky sneaky :ninja: :ninja:
