The Know All Barrel Thread

This topic gets loads of attention and questions about it. “What barrel should I get”, or, “Is this barrel any good?” and so on. Well in my effort to give something back to the boards I decided to put together a very well and in-depth post on each barrel.

The barrels are listed alphabetically, each one will have a short description about it and give you a link (If applicable) to a review courtesy of PBReview.com.

I will start this off by covering the most common barrels used, if you would like one added please send me a pm containing the information and I will add it to the list.

The List

Armson Stealth

Sly Equipment has a carbon fiber barrel coming out, very similar to the Stiffi Switch kit.

Actually the information I found noted two seperate barrels. You should be able to identify that from the giving links and information provided as well.. I will however, go back and double check my information on those as well..

Interesting. I have the barrel matching the tru-flite description that came with a thunderpig sticker on it from the mfr. It does not look anything like the thunderpig barrel pictured. Thanks for the clarification.

Thats probably a manufacturer error but, never the less, you do have a good barrel and I forgot to mention...I have two 16" Tru Flight Barrels and theyre the one's that are pictured in the link.

was wondering could i take my 98c barrel and put it on a metal lathe and smooth out the inside or no if i was to do this what size would the bit need to be to smooth it out and still be at .68 cal ?? thanks much

This is not really the appropriate thread to ask that question, but since you asked it I will tell you.

Do not do this, for one if it is a stock barrel it's not worth the time spent and also the material you would need to take off cannot be replaced (IE; take off to much and your screwed with a bore size way to big).

You are much better off buying a barrel already micro honed smooth and the bore size measured appropriately. Paintballs are measured down to the thousandths of an inch, they are still a .68 caliber ball and barrel but for the best performance players will match paint-bore as close as they can to the thousandths of an inch...


For $35-40 you can pick up a nice J&J ceramic barrel and have a much better experience...
