An over the shoulder satchel with pods is not bad either,it can be swung out of the way for crawling or kneeling.
Filling pods to the top will help cut down on "shaking" noises.

this is true in some cases, but not all. the four i carry on my back stick out behind things (hopefully getting new pack soon). ive been hit in the pack many times without knowing it. so just because there on your back doenst mean that the will help.

you can slide on your left side... It can work..
but turn around, and slide on the other leg, it doesn't work.
slide to right, left leg on ground, slide to left, vice versa, it limits your mobility.

So, unless there are 40 guys your getting out on the other team, a 200-round hopper should be fine. Less weight, smaller profile, and it will save you money.
