I'm only 18 and I say that... Well not in those context, it's more a "How did their parents raise these kids?" thing.

Anyone who looks at someone's marker with every useless expensive mod you can think of (or a 12 year old kid with a DM3 or better), and instead of going "Cool", you shake your head and go "Some people have way too much money". Oh wait, I'm only 23 and do that every time I play.

"What do you mean you've never heard of a barrel tag?"

If you're older than at least half the refs.

If you get hit and go "Oops, oh well", yell you're out, and walk off without a harsh thought or word.

If you see parents drop their kids off at the field and leave, and don't stay to watch them or put any expectations on them, and you don't wonder why cheating and bad sportsmanship are rampant. You know why: parents who don't care, don't treat it as a sport, and don't place any value in it, so the kids treat it the same way.

If you try to help these kids learn how to play the game right, rather than just write them off.

I'm a younger player only in the teens but I read these forums because I am fed up with the idiots in the other forums. The idiots who think they are talking on aim: I am d3 ub3r snip3rz R U? The morons who make one word posts and have no respect for the rules of the forum. I plan on sticking more to the Seasoned Paintball Veterans AKA Old Guys forum because it seems to happen less here. It's a sanctuary...but for how long?

If you play your own game of paintball using Spec ops as guidelines and not as "law of position", put this in your sig.

You know, I walked on to a local field one time, got seperated into teams, and while my team (of about fifteen 10-16 yr olds) were getting ready they were all excited about how they all had spyder guns. Well, even though they looked more like a phaser or something from the Sci-Fi chanel, I peeped up and said cool I have one too! They looked at me like I was nuts and told me what I had wasn't a Spyder! I had to remind them that when Spyders first came out they weren't all pretty and snazzed up!!!!
I love the smell of Napalm in the morning.......It smells like.........VICTORY!!!!!!

Does it have something to do with blow paintball guns.

Anyway, I see a ten year old with an Ion and Halo B, while walking into the woods with my suped up and camo painted 98 Custom. "Damn spoiled kids." I think it's funny, considering I'm only fifteen years young. Yup, I earned every single piece of paintball gear I own at minimum wage from McDonald's. Wow, they treat their employees like crap! I'm working at Karns now, if any one was wondering. $6.50 an hour, a whopping $1.15 more than McDonald's, minus pompous managers. :o

Well, hell, I'm 34 and I started playing in 1990 and I consider myself old school. Constant air was a going thing, but I started with 12-grams. My first few guns were a PGP, Phantom, and PMI-3. A friend of mine still plays with that PMI-3 (he's even cheaper than I am). He gets a lot of goofy looks at the field. Wut Z dAT, a SpYdeR?

I have to admit, I'll probably never go back to a pump. (Well, I could play stock class for kicks, but I don't think I'd be willing to spend real money on it.) I like being able to suppress the punks with the Timmys and DM6s so that the skinny newbie with the rental can flank them and nail them. Damn, that warms my heart.

I think being old school is more state-of-mind than an actual number of years. Believe me, compared to 99% of the players at any field I have played in the past few years I am VERY old school. Hell, most of them don't even shave, and some of them still cry when you shoot them.

I do a lot of muttering on the field, too. But also an awful lot of laughing and mockery...
