Snake13, which model of Uniden radio are you using? I can check the wiring schematics for the pinouts and find the right one for you.

I'm using the GMR638, I ordered the throat mic with the single pin cobra setup, if it ends up not working I'll just pick up a cobra radio

Snake, everythign i can find right now points to Uniden's having a unique pinout that is different from Cobras. I think they use the same pinout as the Audiovox 1 pin. Almost everywhere I could find that sells headset for Uniden radios, only sells 1 specific Uniden brand headset for them.

If it doesn't accept the Cobra plug, I have no doubt that you will at least be satisfied with the performance of a cobra radio to match it.

Sartek doe you have a model Cobra you would reccomend? something in the 30-40$ price range with a single pin setup should the mic not work.

most of the cobras run in that range now :-) Walmart should be carrying the PR590-2WX for around $32 for a pair.
No local wally world? order here-> http://downloads.walmart.com/catalog/produ...duct_id=3984989

22 ch/38 codes, 10 NOAA weather channels, battery saver circuitry, scan feature, key lock, 5 call tones, roger beep tone, illuminated LCD, auto squelch, speaker/microphone jack, belt clip, NiMH battery packs included, desktop charger, will also accept 4 AAA batteries per radio

They should be small enough to work in most vest radio pouches too. I would say any of the cobras with a 3 digit model number.

When you get into the larger model numbers PR1000 or higher, the radios are a larger size and wont fit most radio pouches (which seem to be made more for a cell phone than a radio)

i just received my throat mic today.....finally..... the website says 12 days at a maximum, i had to wait about 6 not counting weekends. the throat mic itself came in a great case, and since i ordered the holding black package, i able to store it away in a safe spot, dry and ready to be used.

the entire sounds backround is erased and communication is great. i dont have time to write anymore, but all i have to say is that this is a must buy, incredibly cheap, and works 200 and ten %.

good buy!!, thanks sartek!!!!!!!!!!!

I think i am going to have to get these. I would have thought firefox mics would be really good seeing as how specops endorses them so much.

All it takes is a little research.
What do you want?
what can you get?
how much can you get for?
If it needs to be replaced, will it be cost effective to buy the same one, or switch to another?
