Where do you get replacement thermal lense for the proto switch EL?

actionvillage.com or here at spec ops.

I put a coating of Rain-X on my cheapy JT Elite mask for the SPPL challenge in Salt Lake. haven't put an more on it since then, and i've washed my mask a quite a few times since then. I still dont have any fog problems with my mask. I have problem with the sweat pooling in my lens instead.

If I'm not mistaken, the cheapy Elite's dont even have the anti-fog lens in them. Best $15 mask I've ever had. :P

I understand that Rain-x is made for glass and putting it on your lense can actually weaken it making it very unsafe for paintball.

You can buy aftermarket lenses for the Proto goggles. Does anyone know if you can buy a thermal lense for the EL? Are EL and FS lenses interchangable? I have an EL but I haven't got a chance to use it yet.

yea they are interchangable, they are the exact same masks except the fs has a rubber chin guard and a thermal lense, the el is all hard plastic and an anti fog treated lense. that's the only diff. I have an el and a thermal lense that I bought. If you don't care about the rubber chin guard that is made to promote bounces (the way I play is if you get hit you are out, bounce or not, especially with a headshot) then get the el and buy a thermal lense for it. It will be cheaper than the fs even when you buy the lense separate.

i love my FS mask. it hardly fogs. i do sweat alot so i get alot of it dripping on my mask. the fan for this mask is worthless. it's loud and obnoxious. and you can't even feel it blowing anything. i got some cheap fans from ebay and made my own. we'll see how those work.

but IMHO i like the way the FS feels and looks. its very comfortable.

Dude the only way it would fog, is if the anti-fog coating came off(which could be from the rain). Or when you brought it home, it may have gotten peeled off or scratched off. Mine only ever fogged once and it was in one small spot and it happened after like 2 hours.
SEMPER FI!!!

I just bought the Switch El today (for $30) and am playing with it for the first time this Saturday. I'll have to wait and see what it does but I've tried it on and it is one of the best fitting masks I have ever had.

I got the proto mask for about 2 years now with the thermal lens and have never ever had any problem at all , no fog , no nothin , I love it , even sprayed couple times with camo color ( allways wear an army cap for the sweat and camouflage) and keep going and going like the comercial bunny , I play in Florida and it gets pretty humid here, I don't think it's the best mask out there but for $ 56.00 bucks it's been a must have to me.
