Short Version

A broadsword suppresses so his team can flank.

And before i recieve some flack, yes i know there is more to it than that.

Oddly, I'm a Broadsword that Flanks :P

We have another squad on my team that's the Anchor, so me and another guy go left and lay some paint.
My job is to be an asshole. I excel at the position.
We put our glass to the sky and lift up. And live tonight 'cause you can't take it with ya. So raise a pint for the people that aren't with us. And live tonight 'cause you can't take it with ya...

nice post. but personaly i think for a good squad the broadsward should be more flexable being about the move, not fast, but quick enough to get where he needs to be.

I'm just started this position and I'm learning very quickly the value of a Broadsword. I love it!

I use a Tippmann 98 Custom with a Flatline Barrel and remote. I just got a Tippmann Cyclone Feeder for Christmas from my wife and man, what a difference.

Awesome information in here.

Well this will surely help me out on when I play broadsword. My team read the basic thing from the main page description on broadsword. Then when they give me orders on the field is nothing like this. They send me up front to shoot at people and follow me. I must have spent more time ahead of the entire team. Looks like I may have been playing dagger with a fast shooting heavy gun and lots of ammo in the hopper.
I will surely use this information to help my team understand what I should be doing and what I should not be doing. Then hopefully I will spend more time in the game shooting and not being one of the first ones out and closest to the action.

PS is a heavy rifleman still a heavy rifleman if he uses a flamer or grenade launcher strapped to his gun?

idk what this hoora is...last I checked, it was OORAH, but that's me, anyway, yea, yer darn tootin that broadsword is great. I was at a pball park the other weekend, just a friend and I...a two man team you might say, although we ordered some other ppl into decent positions, I was basically the flag/bomb carrier's body gaurd, helped em get where he needed to go, and when my neighbor was killed, I gave myself supressive fire and kept the momentum going

I just love seeing ppls faces when they find out i was the only one in that bunker

My local field has a really steep hill that we play on. Myself and usually two mediums set up on the steepest part while everyone else takes the other part of the hill (the easier side to get up). Its hilarious to see the other team get mad when I open fire on them from my angle.

I'll be starting my 1st day as a broadsword tomorrow. I already have my gear setup so I can carry over 1,000 rounds of paint. MY gun is a Tippmann 98c with the flatline-barrel and stock. I've used it for snipping and know the range rather well. All in all Im looking forward to freaking out the other players when I start laying down several coats of paint in their direction.

IN short Im proud to join the ranks of the broadsword and shall honor the others by making my enemy soil themselves.

The way I see a Broadsword, is as follows.

A JACK OF ALL TRADES & AND A MASTER OF ALL.

I get as asked to Suppress, Smoke, Stalk, and Shake the oppersiton any whay I can. And I do.

I carry 12 Q pods for me SP8, 3 Thunder Grenades, 5 Tubes for me Zues, normaly 3 Large Smokes, 3 Paint Grenades, maybe a thunder flash or two as well.

All in the name of Distruction/Disruption.

I also have two air tanks as well, I regualy play on a site that has 9 small fields with air refils in near the center. Plus I have my own 12ltr Dive tank have been known to take that on the field before, I had the Q loader.
SP-8 Camo, 360 QEV, Firebolt, Stock, Q Loader, Freak Back/AA front with Apex , 30mm Sight, Mad Bull XM203 Grenade Launcher,

SP8 Jungle, Standard at the mo............

Zeus G1+ as a Side Arm.

Tippmann C98, Double trigger, Maddman Springs, Flatline Barrell, Progressive 16", Tapco Folding stock.
