SOG Powerlock, Leatherman Wave, Juice, or Skeletool are at the top of the list. Not too picky though, I've been using a Walmart special multitool since the 8th grade. Hell, a Victorinox Trekker (one hand opening Swiss Army Knife) would fit the bill.

I was watching Daily PLanet the other day and they were talking about the Myan Calender.... It looks like they found some more information on it. Ti put it simply, the Calender they found is similar to a month on a regular calender. April ends, May begins. This Myan calender ends, and restarts. Pop culture bastardized it to mean the end of the world.

Thoughts?

Day 221.

From what I have read; and there are probably as many "experts" out there as there are theories; is that the end of this calendar represents the ending of an "age". An age consisting of almost 26,000 years i think. Within that, there were no Mayan prophecies of gloom and doom. Where the ugly world endings have come from are from some of the other civilizations and individual prophecies from the I Ching, Bible, Nostredomus, Egyptian glyphs, native american Hoppi tribes, some central and south american cultures.... and then people started trying to connect the dots, there have been some rather startling similarities in some of the prophecies, as well as dates. The Mayans also think that we are leaving the 4th age and entering the fifth .. the actual "age of aquarius", the one that was made popular by the siong back in the 60's was incorrect... we were in the age of Pisces at that time ( i think ).

There is bunches more, but it gets rather boring unless you are into that kind of stuff, which i am, but obviously not too many more are .. judging by the amount of posts in this thread .. lol

It is way more fun to talk about plans for the end, how to survive and the upcoming zombie wars..parts 1,2,3, etc.. :P

Dude, you have a hot tub, it's all good.

I haven't looked into too much because of one of your statements. There are as many experts as there are theories. Too damn many, haha.

I don't think that song was exactly wrong. One astrological age is about 2150 years, right? So how many years is the "dawning of the age"? If a real dawn only lasts about an hour, that's like 4% of the total day. 40 years is only 1% of an age. Though I suppose we could call it the twilight of Pisces instead, it just doesn't sound as positive.

HA .. well, when you put it like that, it sounds as good as any of the other theories that are out there.

I agree, plus it just doesn't sound right when you substitute the "twilight of the age of pisces" for "dawning of the age of aquarius" :P

Should be one coming up in Fayetteville the 2nd and 3rd. Day after my B-day. Worked a lot of OT this pay period. Might go treat myself.

Looks like they got one the 23rd/24th in Florence. Working that weekend. And picking up a handgun would be MUCH easier in SC. Damn.

the last gun and knife show i went to was in Indy, about 2 years back, and they had furriers, leather makers, outfitters, clothing distributors, ATV's, food suppliers, jerky makers, SWAT and police supplies, and everyone was ready to deal... today i went and while they had plenty of guns and knives, that was pretty much about it. i guess the economy has kicked everybody in the teeth. obviously there was not as much merchandise moving,so nobody was making deals.. pricing was pretty much set in stone.

i did got a set of three throwing knives, smith and wessons, and thats it. I was really hoping to come up with a leather maker who might quote me a price for wrapping the handle of my machette ... it's bakelite, and i don't really like how it feels in my grip.

so i might go to the next one they have in Indy, but thats a good little drive for me.. meh, we'll see

The kitchen manager at my new job's Dad works with the Gun Shows around here. Once I save up some cash (and/or get my Tax Return back), I'm going to talk to him about a nice AR set up. Maybe another pistol or two as well.
My job is to be an asshole. I excel at the position.

Well if I can ever get a copy of my W-2 from the Country Club (the first one was misplaced by my accountant a.k.a. Mother that actually understands tax stuff).
Been trying to get another copy for a bit, but the pay roll lady at the Club recently had a baby, so she's been in and out of work at random. Since I'm not even working there, it's hard getting up with her, and she won't print it unless I'm there to hand it to.

I'm not sure exactly what type I'd go for. Considered a SCAR or ACR, if I get enough back. I'm thinking 18" barrel, flat top. Not sure about the stock or length of the handguard/rails. My friend has a 20 or 22" barrel and almost full length quad rails. Damn thing is heavy. I'd definitely go something lighter. 18" barrel, 10-12" guard. Tri-rail (don't see me putting anything on top). If I can get a good deal, I'll go for a real Bushmaster. If not, I'll get a DPMS or something.

My job is to be an asshole. I excel at the position.
