Tough Mudder challenge... ...Team Lockdown will run with the crazy people!
Posted 31 January 2012 - 02:24 PM
...a brutal, soul-shattering, body-wrecking 12 mile obstacle course competiton.
Participants will be subjected to freezing water, uphill climbs while carrying logs, electric shocks etc.
This is gonna hurt. Alot.
This is also going to be REALLY fun.
Since I have let myself get fat & lazy after hitting 40+, I've already started training - spending 5 days a week in the gym, dieting, & even a little yoga. The goal is to drop 30 lbs & be in condition in 8 months....
So far there will be at least 5-6 of us from Lockdown going...and after this we will be UNSTOPABLE on the paintball field!

That looks like it would be a blast with a bunch of buds who were committed to each other and to having fun. To view it as a singular competitive race to win would be a death wish !
Good luck and wear a some sort of body cam so we can see the bloody footage !

I just might. I have a cousin who works as a rep for GoPro....gonna see if he can get me a good deal on something.

just an idea here ... but you say you're overweight, and training just for this .. get the cam now, do filming while you're training for this, and then also filming of the competition... you could probably make some money out of it.. almost like a time lapse on your body now to when you get race ready hard, and then all the tortures of that race ... it would be cool

i sorta started on my own 100 year plan ( haha ), so far i have dropped about 25 lbs, but my exercising was hit and miss because of some physical limitations ( ankles and knees ). But having those somewhat remedied now, i have gone ahead and gotten a heart rate monitor so that i can see when i drop out my fat burning and fitness zones, and need to step up the exercise. HOWEVER ... one HUGE thing I have noticed since getting "older" ... i used to pride myself on always finishing strong, having that last 100 yard kick .... now i just want to finish,..... period...... the hell with the kick .. LOLOL
anyway, give us a training update .
