I'll spare my other comments about what I think helped kill it for now.

The SPPL is still the property of the original owner of SpecOps so there is a far flung chance that the SPPL could return to the market. But that chance is tiny.
As for the fall of the league, that was mismanagement. As the SPPL changed hands no one could mange to get it right. Poor operations, lack of quality staff, poor planning and a mountain of other mistakes continuously degraded the experience for the players.
So they stoped going to the events.
The format is great, fun, fast, challenging. But from the promoters side of the coin the format is staff heavy and takes a ton of behind the scenes planning and control, so much so that if you are not on top of the thing 100% it crumbles.
The SPPL crumbled apart slowly. Many of the players from the first few seasons went out of our way to help keep it alive, but alas it is gone for now.

If individual producers could re-team to produce a "league" by state, it might get things going again. If there are "owners" issues, call it something else...a scenario series maybe.

Plus on top of all that planning seemed like the events never failed to have atleast one if not 2 rather large hiccups accompanied with numerous smaller issues at every turn. I know imparticular one game my team Zero Tolerance played in at the GA regional event had an affect on the changing of some major rules during the actual event. I know SpecOps did several games with that format at their facility in Utah to try to smooth out any issues prior to launching the series but still I heard about similar stories as mine at almost every event.
But ya know even with all that said it was by far the most incredible paintball experience Ive ever had. Really wish it was still around. So does anyone know of any leagues, tourneys, or just locations where this type format(or similar to it) games are played?
Also is there a link somewhere to all the old rules still in exsistence?

Or has anyone for that matter? Id like to hear some feedback on the UWL. Good bad? Also how does it compare to the old SPPL if there is anyone who has played in both.

We put our glass to the sky and lift up. And live tonight 'cause you can't take it with ya. So raise a pint for the people that aren't with us. And live tonight 'cause you can't take it with ya...
