OK sure, I can agree with that. So are you saying that there is a difference in players(sniper, rifleman, demo expert), or is it just playing styles(tourney, woodsball, outlaw baller)?

Yah I'm sure all of us have don that awesome shot or found "the spot" or have "been the bush" once or twice, but that dosent make you much of anything..other than pretty lucky. Now nothing is wrong with that, but it dosent really classify you as anything. Now if you go out of your way to practice and act upon specific trates, then that makes you what you are.

Yeah... don't do that. Don't say that because I don't spend time practicing those things that I'm somehow lucky but you practice them so you are skilled enough to call yourself a sniper? Maybe if I pass a test on the A.C.E.S. Forum I'll be allowed to call myself a sniper then nothing I ever do will be considered lucky. :dodgy:

I described my feeling on the different positions earlier, sniper does happen to be one of them. It's a style, not a skill set, IMO.

That's it! Tyger must be stopped! Thisisn't just an attack on paintball snipers; it is an attack on all paintball specialty groups! I for one have been a proud paintball Jesus since I started playing.

Now for those of you who may be wondering, "What is a paintball Jesus?" I'll tell you. Now this is just my opinion because all of us paintball Jesuses have different definitions of what a paintball Jesus actually is. My opinion is a paintball Jesus is someone whois an expert at snap shooting, laning, and not getting shot with a paintball.

Now a paintball Jesus doesn't have to be "better" than your average player, he just has to be an expert at those elements of the game.

Now I know what your thinking, "If you'rean expert at snap shooting, laning, and not getting shot with a paintball, aren't you just an awesome paintballer?" Well no, that's not how it works we use theterm paintball Jesus to tell people what we are, experts at snap shooting, laning, and not getting shot with a paintball, not how good we are.

Some people get hung up on the name"paintball Jesus" they say "Your not really the only son of God, You cantreally perform miracles, or come back from the dead so why call yourself apaintball Jesus? Obviously we're not real Jesus, we're paintball Jesuses. We just use the name because it makes sense. See wealways respawn quickly to get back in the game so it's like coming back to lifekind of like real Jesus. We do miraculous things on the field like raise theflag when no one else can so it's like we perform miracles.

See we could use other names like "paintball Quetzalcoatl" but why bother? We didn't pickpaintball Jesus because it sounds cool or relates us to the messiah, it waschosen because it's the simplest term to describe what we do.

I hope that clears up all the negative stigmas that go with the people who call themselvesa paintball Jesus. Just remember were not better than you we are just experts.

Insert something clever here. Preferably something that makes me look cool.

hey, ivan, is that "paintball Jesuses, or Paintball Jesui?"
We rode on the winds of the rising storm,
We ran to the sounds of the thunder.
We danced among the lightning bolts,
and tore the world asunder.

wait...

After reviewing the video, large screen in HD, I did hit the target on the second shot, but not where I thought... It hit the top right bullseye, not that mark in the center of the sheet. (my edit gear only allows me a tiny preview in lower resolution so I could only see the target move, and assumed that was from the mark on the sheet.) But, going back and looking at my raw footage I see that I hit the target 4 times during my test (15 paintballs), and since it was so far away, I didn't know.

My bad.

Shens. Jesus wouldn't be his own position, he would be a sniper.

use to play against the current Miss South Carolina (Courtney Turner) and she had was the closes thing to a paintball Jesus.. a paintball would be going strait towards her mask, and as soon as she looked at it, it would do a crazy turn and miss her. I've played against her many times and only seen her get shot once..

+rep to Ivan for making me remember playing against her.

Here's a fun turn of events. Current to this moment.

TPS has overhauled the rules to their event.

http://www.toppaintb...om/?page_id=323

As of this moment, the rules have been RADICALLY overhauled to something completely different. The 400' shot is out, except in the finals. And the event is, well, a LOT more realistic.

I'll just say the timing is interesting.

Irrespective of whether or not anyone believes that "paintball snipers" exist, the original format of the TPS competition was pretty bogus. Tyger, I think you've effected a change for the better with regard to that competition.

Much more reasonable. Man sized targets at doable ranges = win for them. Still... hitting 5 3x5 playing cards at 150' w/ 7 shots for a royal flush is next to impossible. Your odds of getting one on felt is better. Grats to them for being willing to make adjustments, regardless of what prompted them.

My question towards Tyger still remains. In the original video you made it clear that you didn't think players could hit 350 feet with a traditional paintball gun/ and normal paint with any kind of consistancy, shooting at less than 300fps. Have I convinced you otherwise?

My video proves that advances in technology (apex barrel) have changed what was available distance wise for paintballers. As 350 is now within reach, and 300 is a easy shot compared to traditional barrels that can't shoot that far without shooting at an illegal or unsafe fps. Oh, and that was NOT first strike rounds I used regular paint from Dick's... That I purchased in February of this year... Xball scenario woodsball paint, you can see it in the video.

I have gotten many hits that broke on long distance shots like that over the years, yes, some will bounce, but you drop four or five on someones head from that distance, with good paint. And you will get a break. My target is paper, with 1 inch of air behind it... As I didn't feel like carrying a board all the way down my driveway to give a hard background. I didn't care to prove it would break, my only point was that I could shoot that far with "paintball" accuracy.

Personally, I have hit exactly where I was aiming four times in a row before in consecutive shots during a "revolutionary war" game at my field at approximately 150 feet. So I don't think that the playing card thing is really THAT difficult, certainly not impossible. Besides, you play for best hand. A single high card or pair might win if it is windy that day...

Here is a 150 foot headshot, and a few 300+ foot eliminations during game play. Our field is different than most as we consider any hit as "out" since we don't play with refs. But, both of those long range shots did break. John said it broke on his shoulder with that heavy coat padding him. The other player was hit in the visor and it broke as well.
