Keep the cyclone. Get an x7 low profile hopper. The qloader is nice, but its nicer to be able to fill up pods in 2 seconds rather than a minute or so per pod. That said, my qloaded ion is quite nice.

Thanx.. since you have the q loaded ion.. does it give you any issues? or is the minutes of filling 1 pod at a time the only issue?

Now I havent used a Q-loader but ive wanted to but not for the A5 unless its a concept piece.


The A5 feed system is the only reason you probally got that instead of a m98 so why replace it?

lol..I'm just curious.. also.. The one (if i get the Q loader) I might put it on my experimental A-5.. If you must Ask.. wHaT iS tHiS eXpErImEnTaL A-5//?? Its just the A-5 that i put upgrades on that I'm afraid to put on my main Tippmann a-5 setup..

2 A-5s= 1 play gun..1 A-5=Experiment

I havent had any issues. That said, I am patient and enjoy tinkering. A lot of people don't like to take the time to get the qloader JUST right. The reloading is only an issue if you only have a few pods. If you have 8 or so, it takes a while to get started but you will be able to go longer w/o reloading. If you get the qloader, look into buying something other than the silo it comes with to load the pods. If you have to re-load in the dead box during an all day scenario, you'll want something you can carry in a pack. It is also a lot of shaking with the big silo

I have not seen a q-loader in a loooooong time, for what I heard before they worked pretty good including in tippys.

I used an agitated hopper. You have to mod it a bit or the hose won't fit. I thing the hopper I used was a jt..

If you fit a QLoader to the A5 it will mean modifying the A5s body- to go back to cyclone will mean half a new body shell
I see no point in replacing the cyclone with a QLoader

However I do love the QLoader when it is tuned correctly

The silo is like a 500 ball hopper. empty a bag full into the silo, then connect it to the QLoaders winder to load each QPod

It is not essential to have an alternate loader but it's easier

To correctly load the QPods you need to ensure there is a constant line of paintballs being fed as you wind. Using an agitated hopper and the right length of tube lets you be sure to have a clean load of balls with no gaps

However with practice it is possible to quickly load QPods directly by hand. I would often lend out markers which meant my hopper could be in use when I was reloading. Grab a handful of paint, cup my hand over the QPod and wind in about 5 balls

Before you commit to QLoaders do some research - watch videos etc

They are not for everyone

hmm, well if I was going to attach a q-loader to an A-5, I would remove the bulky cyclone feed. But then again, that's the whole point of having an A-5..... meh, work with what you got. And I'm not sure if you can re-attach a cyclone feed once it's taken/broken off. It's been awhile since I worked with an A-5. I don't use cyclone feed except for my Q-bow, since reloading is a hassle compared to pods.

Yea ive seen a couple of videos.. To me they look like that big toy in Toys"R" Us.. And I need that big toy..lol..they look like a lot of work.. But I love the idea of having one..to my friends..im just a gear freak..i always need that new thing

@ eagle eye..Yea u have to break the ball latch(i think thats what it is called) and 2 little things that mount the cyclone to the A-5 marker.to put the cyclone back u would have to get a whole new Right or left reciever..not sure which one
