So...Ive been a smoker for almost 20 years. Made a serious attempt to quit last year & failed miserably.

Time to try again. This time my wife & I are on the same plan, same schedule, and are better prepared mentally for the challenges ahead. We promised our daughter that would quit for her birthday, so that's a pretty powerfull motivator...

today is day 2 with no smokes whatsoever. So far so good...although I have to fight the urge to find some small, cute, & helpless animal to beat to death with my coffee mug.

What are you using to quit?? The patch, e-cigarettes, gum?? Or going cold-turkey??? I hear ya man, I need to quit myself... I tell myself that every time I'm out of breath on the paintball field... :o

Im using the gum with the occasional e-smoke...wife is using the patch.

1 carton of smokes costs about the same as a case of mid-grade paint....hoping to be able to afford alot more play time by the end of the summer...

This worked for me when I wasnt trying to quit. GNC sells these mint flavor toothpicks, sorta like a menthol. I used these at work when it was too flippin cold out to smoke and it killed my cravings and desire to smoke. Now that was not my intention with those toothpicks but thats what happend.

So go to GNC and find a box of "TreeLeaf" Toothpicks.

Good luck man...never had a smoke in my life so I can't imagaine what it's like trying to quit. wish you and your wife all the best though.

Day 5...not too horrible. Focused on house cleaning/chores to take my mind off it. In a few weeks, my house will look fabulous.
I think I can do this...it still sucks, but its sucking a bit less.
