So I decided to play with an extra Model 98.

Hacksawed the front grip off, and also hacked off a bunch of the barrel.

Planning to make a foregrip out of walnut to cover the gaping wound. Strip off the paint and get a nice new coat on. Look for a semi-inexpensive stock or not?

I'd love to figure out a wood stock, but doesn't seem possible.

Hahaha! Just got 'em layin around like that huh?

You could get a buffer tube off a car stock and just fit a homemade wood stock over it...

Me and my Bro-in-laws bought 22 M98s off ebay 7 years ago. They found the deal. Apparently it was a field that went out of business that was selling them. BUffer tube? Car stock? I'll look those up. I may be able to get a wood stock from a friend... We'll see.

It's the M4 style collapseable stock, I was saying if you can't find a wood stock that mounts to the 98 you can take the tube that the M4 stocks slides back and forth on, out of the M4 stock, mount that to the 98 and fit the wood stock over it.
