I found a stock that I would like to put on my Carver One but it is only made for A5's. Is there a way to convert the stock to fit on a 98 based gun. Closest I would say is to pick up a JCS folding stock for the 98C, it has a nice metal bit that is threaded so you could remove the stock and bolt whatever you want to it to be a stock. It looks like the A5 plate on that stock is removable so I would remove it, check the space requirements on the JCS 98C Stock Plug, and bolt it through using JB Weld/Kwik as a filler to make a custom mounting bracket to merge the 2.

That's how I would go about it.

Orpackrat nailed it w/ the JCS stock suggestion. I've seen at least one A-5 stock modded using one of those to fit a 98. It stinks you have to buy another stock to make it work but it's the best mounting option I've seen - most jerry-rig jobs either look like garbage or aren't at all solid.

I just looked on the Milsig website for a better picture and it looks like the brackets on the sides, that has the holes for the push pins, are removable. If so, I may be lucky and mount it on just like that. I may call the company and ask just to be safe. If not, they may make a custom for me. who knows.

I doubt it... but if that's the case, MILSIG IS BRILLIANT!

I doubt it too, but the only way I will know is either buy it or call them. One thing is for sure is that the stock adapter itself is definately not removable.

Seriously though, let me know if you do find an adapter. I've got an extra A5 stock and no stock for my 98 and haven't been able to find a solution for years

Engler said he will mod it for $50. I guess thats your best bet if you still want your stocks modded as well.

Is he going to make an adapter for it? I don't want to permanently mod my stock, I want to still be able to use it with the A5 later, if I want to...

I think he is permanently modding mine. I dont mind since it is for my rifle that I will be using in a sniper competition I signed up for. Plus, I'm happy with how my A5 is now. It's light, low profiled, air-tru and accurate. Only thing I will do to it is upgrade the cyclone system and hammer. Send him a email and he might work something out. the thing is, it will take him about a month to work on mine, so who knows how long that will take considering its summer and he is more than likely busy.
