I've had my Spec Ops vest for about 3 years now and I love this thing. If I remember correctly it is the Spec Ops Recon vest. I was at an 8-hour scenario game Saturday, and at the end of the day I went to take my vest off and the zipper finally gave out on me. I didn't notice while I was playing, but the zipper was already broken before I went to take it off - the zipper had completely separated and the handle thing (I don't know the name for it, but the piece that you pull up that causes the two sides to 'zip' together) was the only thing holding the two sides of the vest together on my chest. Now with the internal belt this wasn't too much of a problem, as the vest was still very secure, and it was in such a way that I could still access my front pockets, but now the handle part of the zipper is stuck near the bottom, and it took a few teeth of one side of the zipper (I really need to look up some technical terms for zippers...) with it, forcing me to remove the vest like a pull-over shirt rather than, well, a vest.

My question is: is there some kind of easy/relatively cheap way to either repair the zipper or remove it and replace it with something about as reliable? I'd rather not have to replace my vest with a new one, as the only problem I have with it is the now-broken zipper, and I'm trying to save up for some other paintball gear. Although that Forge heavy back/harness front vest in the store does look pretty nifty...

Duct Tape.

You could get buckles and take the zipper off. Fixing a zipper is hard without replacing it. Which is always an option. Find a tailor in your area and see what they can do.

Using buckles is a good idea. Any suggestions on how to take the zipper off myself, or is that what the tailor's for?

I would find a tailor as Benaiah mentioned, that would definitely be the easiest & should be fairly cheap. You could also contact MO or B-Dazl & see what it would take for S.O. to replace it for you, shouldn't be too bad, as long as you could go without your vest for a little while.

I was actually going to suggest contacting you MO, because from what I've seen lately, you take care of your people.. And because of that kind of stuff I've seen lately, is convincing me to start buying from SO again. If I could +1 you a hundred times, I would. Keep up the amazing work Special Ops!
