I apparently had a cyst on my right lung that decided to burst while i was doing laundry sat aug 28th night around 10:30. It opened a hole in my lung and deflated it by thirty percent. It hurt to beathe and i thought i pulled something, went to bed and woke up around 6 Sunday and drove to the er (first time in hospital lol). I could feel something in my chest moving and sharp pain in my chest and back when id breathe. >> They took me right back, took x-rays and showed me what was up. I had to wait >>  until about three for the surgeon, he was the only one on, and i was stable. He got there and they gave me morphine, stuck some needles between my ribs then made an incision and put a tube in to suck the air in my chest cavity out in order to re-inflate my lung. I was conscious the whole time and it was slightly...uncomfortable haha. I saw him again the following monday (aug 30th) morning, he was leaving for disney, and i met his replacement tuesday. I was stuck in bed for the majority of the time and could only get up to pee in a jug looking thing until later tues, when I was allowed to walk around (still had the hose in though). They pulled my tube on weds and honestly I had so much fun with the nurses and they were so nice and funny and positive to be around that when I got home I missed them and felt a little lonely...weird I know but they did such a nice job and I ended up knowing a tech who helped in surgery and one of the nurses from dealing with them at my job haha.  I even saw another one thurs (sept 2nd) when I went back to work and thanked her. And after working a double fri (sept 17th) night, i had a strangely familiar chest pain. After a little while i knew my lung collapsed, went to bed drove to hanover hospital (in my town) and am now at the york hospital via first abulance ride, 30 mins. They have a chest surgeon who will make a series of small incisions in my side, go in w a mini cam and staple device to find the weak part of my lung, staple it and remove it. I will also have a chest tube in one of those holes and they will also rough up my lung and chest cavity to fuse them. Same side as last time. I have pics and vid from the first time and gettig bids from this time. My first time they wrapped my skin around the tube via stitches until they removed it and it looked like lips until they removed stitches a week and a half ago and had JUST HEALED...ugh.

That really stinks, crazy how things can just suddenly go wrong...how long is recovery from somethign like this looking? Going to be able to get back to being active in the near future or does this do a pretty good bit of damaging to your paintball

"You know that's not a good thing right?"
"Of course it is, it adds more grip, greater stability"

my cousin suffered a collapsed lung. defiantly not cool, but it goes to show, a little pressure system can go oh so very wrong.
and to think of the amount of force in the markers and the tanks, your little 11 PSI lungs were feeling pressure.

So are your lungs ok, or do you still have to be really careful ? And how do you get a cyst on your lung, do they come back ?

Turns out it was a bleb or weak area that developed and blew out. I had to basically avoid strenuous physical activity for a week. And not lifting anything above 30lbs for the next four weeks total.

And thank you Mobles.
