Last Sunday at work this was actually a long discussion. I had joked with the guys "There's 700 people outside wanting to play paintball." The field is easily a 3 man field, and a rather tight 5 man field, so obviously it's not a 350-350 field. But knowing that we can handle 40 renters at a time, it created a fun thought experiment.

How would you lay out a field for 20 on 20, knowing that it's the size of a 3-5 man field? For the sake of argument, you have any airball bunker you want at your disposal. the goal is to make a field that is somewhat balanced and playable. You've got 40 people using rental gear, so it needs to be reffable too. I'd also like to know why you would lay it out as you would. I know what we came up with, but I'm curious to see what you guys would do.

It'd be really hard and would take a ton of experimenting to get it where you can actually fit all the people, but still have enough room to move. You'd have to use a lot of big bunkers.

Eh five car washes per side, one at home, one in both corners and one in front of that and a spike in the middle. Other than that basically a normal field.

A ton of doritos, in a checkerboard fashion. That'd be interesting to play.

i would just layout a standard layout and say good luck. not gonna lie.

I'd put Four back Cans, and three Doritos between each can about 20 feet ahead, ( so a 4 bunker back row, and a 3 bunker second row on the 30)

Then I'd place a Big dorito in the center, and have a dorito side, with about 4 to make up that side, and then rock a Mini snake with only two knuckles
Toss in a car wash on the 50 on each side of the senter bunker.
Basically a big backrow ball with bunkers to bump up into as you weed down the numbers lol.

Somebody already mentioned a checkerboard dorito style, but i would add a small snake on each side, and at least 2 - 4 ROLLING balls ( Call them beach balls ) that you could get behind and push around and also use for cover. How cool would that be ! Then, for the masses, I would have an option to use shields, maybe a little bigger than trash can lids, call it THE DAYS OF SPARTA or something. Your legs would still be exposed and you'd have to put it down to reload and all, but that would be part of the risk and the rush. Have masses of players with hand shields rushing forward, yelling and firing their paintball guns, pretty cool. It would also free up the bunkers so you wouldn't have 5 - 7 people behind them at times, plus just think of the strategies you could employ with a moving ball, and a flank of players using small shields. I think that would be awesome. If nothing else, it would be different and fun !

Edit :Oh ya, and if you are one of the guys that have a shield, then you can't use the bunkers except maybe to reload.

I just shoot where coaches tell me to so I have no idea.

However, It reminds me of when we would play 10man on a small indoor 3man field. Tripled up at home mange. lulz
