I was looking at getting some wood grips next year when I have money again - I just loved the idea how pump guns get better with use/age so I figured I should get some grips that will too!
My first dilemma is whether or not to get just straight grips ($100 +) ... or the stabilized wood to make the grips myself. ($50 ish)
Second, the type of wood - a lot of these would be GREAT on a red/black phantom, plus I have some colourblindness, so I don't always trust my judgement (this is ignoring my colour-stupidity). Sorry, the image file types are wrong for the straight wood pieces - just click the links.
First: Buckeye Burl
Buckeye Burl Wood
Desert Ironwood Burl
And, while I wouldn't do this on MY Phantom (being green and black), I'm sure Legato and others would appreciate:
Purple Maple Burl
Purple Maple Burl1
Purple Maple Burl2
Or even Raspberry Wine Spalted Curly Maple
Newly added to their site:
Blue/Purple Box Elder Burl --> I LIKE this. Get it Legato haha
Thoughts? Alternatives? I was originally going to superimpose the grips on the Phantom, but my Photoshop skills appear to be lacking (as I've never used) and Paint is crap.
