Get on a team and start going to open entry tournaments. You'll probably need a good job to pay for everything though because no company is going to sponsor a team that's hasn't played/won a lot.

Practice practice practice. ANd work for money. Tourney ball aint cheap. Once you get those few years of experience, sponserships and what not are easier.

See if theres a local forum for your city or for one of your fields. Go to tryouts, thats your best bet. That way, you'll likely get into an atleast semi-organized team, who already has or is working on getting sponsors. It takes a lot of the work out of it, its nice having practices scheduled, and not have to do all the management work yourself.

Other than that, get known at your local field, find out what days the tournament crowd comes out on, and play with them. Its generally sundays at all of my local fields. Get to know a few people who are regulars, and ask them if they want to throw together a team to enter in a tourney. After you play a couple events, and know all your players are committed, thats when you start looking for sponsors.

If you can't even make it to the nearest field to try and find teams, what makes you think that you're going to be able to make any of your team's practices? If you're really serious about this, and really want the sponsors and to be on a serious team, you're going to need a lot more commitment.

This makes me think you should wait a year or two before making a commitment to a team. Tournament paintball is expensive, if you have no money it's definitely not for you right now.

I am 15. Playing competitive tourney ball. I babysit 3x a week and am constantly doing yardwork. There is always a way to make money. You just have to figure it out. Almost ALL of my earnings go towards paintball.

And what mephisto and d4rk said are very true.

If you become a local at your field you may be able to get a reffing job next season which makes EVERYTHING so much easier.

Yeah, you need to regular a field and play there often so other players will recognize you as a good player and ask around and see if there's a team you can join or if anyone wants to make a team.

Just because you are 15 doesn't mean you can't play tourney's. I'm 15 and I play local Novice tourneys and a couple large New England D4 events. 2 of my friends who are also 15 do the same thing.

You need to save up some money to pay for entry and paint. try to get sponsored by local paintball fields and stores. When you start going to tourneys you can apply for a sponsorship from some off the paintball websites like redz, valken, apxgear, ansgear, zephyrpaintball, they will give you good discounts on gear such as pants, jerseys, podpacks, ect. This will help out a lot.
