ok so ive read alot of forums and what not trying to decide on what barrel to get and basically come down to deciding on getting the apex tip. but now i dont know which barrel to get to attach to the apex. ive been hooked on getting the lapco bigshot 12" barrel with the apex already on it but im wondering if thats the best choice. im looking more on the side of distance and accuracy and thats where i got the apex idea. my friend also has an apex tip but stock barrel and it outshot my flatline. besides the lapco bigshot i also saw a few more barrels that people were talking about but im just wondering what others think is the best barrel. also if anyone knows of a good website to order from that has the barrel and apex in stock, most places seem to be out of the bigshot atleast. and if anyone thinks what is better the 8 or 12 inch barrel, ive read it makes no difference in distance or accuracy, its just for looks. is that true? thanks

I would recommend the LAPCO Assault 10inch with a Apex tip...then you can also play without the apex if you want.

I would just buy directly from LAPCO http://lapcopaintball.com

and i also find the stock BT 8 inch barrel with the apex pretty accurate too (garbage without the apex).

sounds like a good choice but i still cant find it for an a5. not even on lapco. have u seen any? and do u know of any shrouds that would fit around this barrel. ive read that most dont fit and lapco bigshot barrels.

I'll be having my Apex on either my C-series stiffi from special ops, or my freak barrel from smartparts.

someone else actually said to put a freak back with a stiffi front. what do u think of that? they said they heard it will shoot as far as the apex but straighter

It'll never shoot farther. The apex puts backspin on it which gives the ball a certain amount of lift to keep it from falling to the ground as fast.

The stiffi tip for the freak barrel really only makes it lighter.

aight cool. thanks for the tip. i think im just gonna go with the lapco big shot barrel with the apex tip. do u know if the difference of length makes any difference i heard it doesnt so i was just gonna go with the 8" barrel to keep the gun small but if it does make a difference ill get the 12".

if you go with the LAPCO, I would recommend the 10inch assault over the 8 or 12 inch big shot only because you might what to play without the apex. the assault's tip is threaded and you can screw on other tips like a mock silencer and m4 tip....just my $0.02.

rap4 recon barrel. the theory is that the straight rifeling keeps the ball straight so when it hits the apex it is the only thing affecting the ball. I have one and I love it.

HMMMM, sounds logical...are the tips from LAPCO and Tiberius same thread as RAP4's 7/8 barrels?

The apex alone will not go onto the assault barrel, you will need the tip to screw on too.
I PMed you.
