I have an older Spyder Xtra, and I havent' used it since last year. But I tried cocking it and it won't stay cocked. And when I take the bolt assembly out, it just slides out, I don't have to pull the trigger or anything and there's no resistance at all. (not the case with my other Xtra) So I don't really know what's going on, I don't know if I lost a part or something at the last game it was used in or what...

The spring that comes out with the assembly it fine... Could it be a problem witht the trigger frame?

this was taken from the spyder xtra manual

vvvvvvvv

TROUBLESHOOTING
ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING MAY CAUSE RECOCKING RELATED PROBLEMS:
a. The pressure in the tank is too low or too high.
b. Need lubrication. (See OPERATION GUIDE in P4)
c. #19A (striker o-ring) is damaged. Replace with new Kingman or Kingman-approved o-ring.
(Note: the #19A O-ring cannot be substituted by a tank o-ring or a #9 o-ring).
d. Need to clean barrel and upper chamber or the receiver.
e. Paintball may be defective (i.e. expired, change shape)
f. #9 (bolt o-ring) is damaged or the o-ring has expanded or swelled. Replace with a
new o-ring.
g. After ball breaks, remove all parts from UPPER chamber of receiver, wipe parts clean, and
reassemble parts into receiver. Also make sure to clean barrel with squeegee

First thing to look at here is:

Did you loose a screw for your grip or is it loose? If that's the case then the sear isn't catching the bolt.

Hey I found the problem! And you were half right Slinkyaroo, the sear isn't catching the bolt, but it's because there's a small spring that connects the sear to the grip frame, must have broken and fallen out. I don't know if or where I could find a replacement though... Any ideas?

Go old school until you find a good spring. Try cutting down the spring from a writing pen.
