Hey guys, I am thinking about purchasing a new marker for woodsball. I am a noob, and I have been looking at the Tippmann A5 and the BT-4 Combat. My question is; Is the BT-4 Combat better that the Tippmann A5? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

The performance is about the same. I'd go with the BT just because with the BT you're not stuck with the cyclone. Another thing I don't like about the A5 is the tombstone. It's just a leak waiting to happen. I tech the markers at my field and I fix alot of tombstone leaks. On the BT the airline is screwed directly into the valve so there's much less chance for a leak. Other than that they are pretty close and both would serve you well. The A5 is almost twice the cost of the BT but doesn't have twice the performance. lol.

It really doesn't seem like a good idea to compare a marker that costs that much more :P Tippmann 98 Custom is probably closer.

What's wrong with the cyclone? I've got Tech T in mine and have had like no problems at all ;)
Rip-Clip is essentially an electronic version of the Cyclone from what I would guess, but you have a lot more experience I would think DVL.

Myself, I bought the 98C used on eBay with the cyclone and a Flatline and I enjoy them both. As a once avid gamer, flat trajectory was easier to get into :P (never tried reg barrel though).

Nothing wrong with the cyclone on the A5, you just don't have the option of sticking something else on the marker if the cyclone craps out. I like the cyclone on the 98C because you can easily take it off.

The only thing the Rip-Clip has in common with the Cyclone is that it accepts all the hoppers available for the Cyclone. Other than that it's just a sound activated electric loader that slides onto the top rail. Sweet loader.

I agree with you on the flat trajectory. It will spoil you. Not having to arch your shots can be an advantage.

What? I think you're confused Tomcat. He asked,"what's wrong with the cyclone". I stated, there's nothing wrong with the cyclone but on the A5 you can't take it off and stick something else on. If you like the cyclone I'd rather have it on the 98 Custom so you can easily take it off and stick something else on the gun just in case you have problems with it. So yea, you could take the cyclone off the 98 Custom and stick a Rip-Clip on it or any other loader.
