that's the joke, it WASN'T popular. At least up here, nobody had them. I owned a set of the cammies, and gave them to a roomie becasue they shrank after one washing. I remember the Ironmen being sponsored, and wearing Sandanaflague for a SEASON before they went back to Scott. (Then JT, but...)

And yeah, I know it's been piled up. One store in Illinois has a bin FULL of them, and they put them on special clearance to just get rid of them.

So, lemme see if I got this right. Kids want to look old school by buying gear that nobody wore back in the day. They then weather and age the material to look old and worn in, so the illusion is that they've played in them for a long time. Then they take pictures of themselves in this stuff and comare notes on how cool they look in their new "old school" gear? Wow, that's... wow....

I ought to film my "Bad Bill" sandana and see what they do with THAT.... I wonder if I can be in their "legit sandana" club, seeing as I bought mine from the company in Cali back int he day, and I have a black "tie back" style that they seem to not know about.... I may have to film in that one today...

A piece of old school history that I can guarantee you that you don't have. I got this from a company in the UK called "Undercover Paintball", who made this set for "Joy Division" back in the day. And yes, I've played in these a bit, and I like them. VERY distinctive, but I'm not 100% sure why....

Comments, questions and requests always welcome!

I've seen that camo before. No live, but in mags. Personally I like it.

Mind bottling isn't it? It's like buying brand new "faded" jeans...

Kids decide that some straps are worth more than others, and they pay $100 for a worn out, stretched out strap that only makes them look a little old school when in reality most of us just bought what was out there, and didn't really care for the bright fancy ones becasue they gave your positionaway in the woods?

Why do I see it as like one guy who says "yeah, thats worth money" and everyone just goes with that?

Welcome. To. Antiques.

I watch shows like pawn stars, american pickers, etc, just to see how bull-ish the prices that come out of their mouths are.

Tonight's episode, they paid 600+ dollars for a rusted gas pump that consisted of 3 rusty vertical pipes, and a glass cylinder at the top...complete with algae.

*shrug*

I think they restore or resell and turn a profit, playing on the fact that someone out there will pay more than they did for it. That's actually a hobby. Buying stuff no one would wear and aging it to make it look worn so they can brag, that's kinda silly.

We're getting near the end of this series, and this time I'm showing my Spec Ops digis. These are the ones I've been playing in for a few years now, and this is ALMOST the most modern set I've got. Almost. Now my next goal is to get the ACU versions of these. If anyone's in Utah, tell Mo to hold me a set for when I get my first check! (3X at least, I just hope the ACU fusions are still in stock by then...)

In a final bit of bragging, the Special Ops "ultralight" camouflage style. These are VERY light and airy, I don't think there's a way to overheat while wearing these. And I've played in the most hot and humid contitions in these without incident. There are downsides, however, and it's all about finding what you like and what you'll give up for it.

So yes, SO45615 called it.

And this will conclude this series. I've had some requests to show my patches too, so I may delve into that. I'm not sure. But I've got some field footage, so we'll see what I can do with that.

Comments, suggestions and feedback of all kinds ALWAYS welcome.

YES! Something in tyger's soft goods video that I actually own!

I do have to comment though, maybe it was all the underbrush at elite weekend, but I noticed that that football mesh really likes to get torn and fray...
