Is this a good set or should I look into another brand? $60 is a good price I think? Does anyone have this set or another that's better?
Yesterday when I was playing somebody told me that they never use players choice paintballs their A-5 because they are too small of a bore. I figured this would fix the problem since players choice is the best bang for my buck at my local shop without using completely crap paint.

I've heard good things about those systems, but for my money I'd be getting something with a longer insert like the freak from smart parts.

Personal opinion though, i'm sure there's a few more people here who prefer those over freak.

I love my python kit, if you buy one they also offer a.692 sleeve as well, here is why:

I shortened my stock 98c barrel to 2 inches leaving me with a whooping 225 FPS. After a few games I purchased a Python kit (couldn't afford a Freak, and didn't want the length) and jumped to 275 FPS, adjustable spring kit i was back up to adjusting to 290 FPS.

If youy can afford it and length isn't an issue I would look into the Freak kit, longer sleeve longer compression, however Palmers Brass Barrels are reportedly excellent barrels with a parabolic shape to allow for "warping" of the paintball. And there is now another company offering a underbored barrel. It starts out at .69 and then drops to a smaller diameter in the middle. Reportedly they don't have a higher rate of barrel breaks than an other barrel company, but that's coming from the manufacturer as well soooo.

"Yes! You too can be a better stalker with the new Eigen Barrel from Lurker Paintball"

PM me if you can't find an ad for them.

a short barrel will decrease your fps? makes sense.. even with your velocity screw all the way out? Hmmm I'm going to have to rethink my BT-4 Combat pistol conversion now. I knew it would not be accurate with a super short barrel but it has to break balls when they hit people. I wanted this kit for my A-5.
Thanks for the realization. The freak kit is just too long when pared with my apex barrel. I don't want a goofy long sniper barrel. I want to play up close and personal. Pluss the freak kit is almost $100 more.
So what bore should I be looking for. You said I could get another bore size for this kit. What sizes do you use the most and what paint do you use generally?

somebody should make inserts for any barrel. Just slip it in and screw it on like normal. I wonder how PTFE would do? Lower friction?
But for real, what's up with a drop in compression system for any barrel?

After I had shortened my barrel, regardless of where my velocity screw was, I shot 225, when I added the Python it jumped to 275 max, I could adjust down but not up.

While a short barrel will decrease your FPS with the addition of the Python and spring kit I'm back up to adjusting to meet field FPS. Also I find very little accuracy change between my shorty with python (4") vs a J&J 14" (comparison made on field with naked eye).

I adjust bore size on field and I don't use a specific paint, either field paint or whatever is cheapest. I've used all they sizes depending on paint and temperature.

How long is the barrel your apex sitting on?

Edit: nothing :P

will these inserts fit into a barrel without the adapter? could you have a stock barrel turned to accommodate the sleeves. Does anyone know if the outside diameter is the same on all sleeves?

need the adaptor...no barrel is bored to take them stock. You just add the adaptor at the end of your barrel and are done. OD is the same for all sleeves, its the ID that changes

I have not personally used a python kit, but I have heard nothing but praise. If you are using a stock barrel or something close to stock then it is a good buy on a budget. If you have the money I would spring for a J&J edge kit though. If you can get a straight front w/o the fluting you can put the Apex tip on there.

Question: Did TechT buy out Python? Because it looks like they came out with the exact same kit, exact same packaging, just different name on it.

No, it's a partnership. Python is making the "i-Fit" kits for them, it's just got TechT's marketing behind it. They are the exact same things just re-branded.

You bought the brand, not my allegiance.
