Tonight we just launched the new SO chat room. You can visit it from the link in the forum header. The old irc chat room will be gone.

This new chat room is more stable and offers better tools. You will need to register again to protect your screen name. (yes it's the old BOB system.)

I'm not too sure irc was a better choice. This version of chat is back because of demand. Presently many old chatters are jumping back on board.
