Its a Spyder RT. I just put air through it for the first time and it sounds like there is air coming out of the barrel. Is this something Electronic marker do? if not, what should i check to fix the leak?

Cock the marker before you put the air on it. Try that.

Slink is correct. 9/10 that's the problem. With the marker un-cocked when it's aired up the valve is left open allowing air to escape and putting pressure on it from the wrong side.

Cocking it allows the valve to seal and you should have no problems.

there are exceptions though. Some Spyders it doesn't seem to make any difference.

IF that doesn't work replace the battery.

I tried it.. It still sounds like air is escaping.

Then it's probably your front valve. You should check your poppit. Also make sure the poppit is placed in the right order.

spring > retainer > poppit.

Have you lube it recently?

Lube it. Put a few drops of oil in the ASA. Cock the marker, air it up and dry fire it without the barrel on.

Then you are going to have to inspect the poppit.

Items 10,11,12,13 and the two valve o-rings.

Wear on the poppit and o-rings. Make sure it's assembled correctly. If you have new o-rings it may be worth changing them anyways. The marker sometimes come with an extra poppit.

Good. I just put a pick up to give you an idea of what a poppit was. :P

They vary some.

The idea is to look for damage to the orings (or is the oring just loose)? Also look at the part that would seal against the front of the valve (front as in front of marker) for wear.

It may be new, but some parts can be defective now and then.
