Kydex is a composite commonly used in applications from vehicle interiors to weapons storage, it is well know for its incredible durability and lightweight qualities. The model supplied by skunkworks came with a Y frame drop leg platform. This is a fantastic platform due to the double leg strap as well as 2 belt mounting points which allow for ultimate stability on your leg. If you’re not interested in using a drop leg platform, this holster is drilled to a universal ‘S.E.R.P.A’ pattern. The best part is that the product shipped with a Blackhawk platform which ranks upon the higher quality products as opposed to using some eastern knockoffs that could have been used. Upon initially opening the package it is clear that Skunkworks pays clear attention to detail when it comes to functionality as well as aesthetics. The main shell of the holster has been streamlined to allow for many different modifications to your T8 such as bottom rails or the UMS TRG. The holster offers two tension springs which allow you to tighten the grip that the holster has on your T8. Also, with a snap on strap you have a secondary method of locking your T8 in when its not in use. In a realistic application this holster does not budge at all when you run with it, this is a drastic difference when compared to the usual style of drop leg holster that slows you down by wagging back and forth while you run. All of the straps are adjustable for the perfect fit and even come with elastic retainers so that the straps aren’t all hanging all over the place. One option that was not provided though soon available from Skunkworks is an barrel plug that mounts to the holster so you can’t forget it or lose it anywhere.
