Virtue Laser Wire Eyes with 09 PMR?

I bought a set of Virtue wire laser eyes from my local shop, who said they'd work with an 09 PMR. Is this true? From what I can tell, the ribbon eyes on the PMR have a 90* bend with the eye (positioned like a P) whereas the wire eyes have the eye jutting out in line with the wires. So this means I'd have to bend the wired eye 90 degrees to use it with the PMR, which I don't really want to do...

Any thoughts? Should I just return them? I bought them since the ribbon eyes on my PMR kept failing to register, no matter how much I fiddled with the ribbon tab on the socket.
