Hey guys.

I need some pants that are made for speed. I don't need as much protection, but I want pants that will allow me to get to the snake and not slow me down. I was looking at the Planet Eclipse ones, but they look a little bulky.

The Dye ones look good, but that is just what I think they look like.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

if you wear pants that are too tight, you won't get as many bounces from them .... but as far as looks go and fit ... proto pant ftw

Eclipse are the bulkiest pants on market...

Proto pants are super light and durable...jt are good pants too but they are pretty baggy.

Yes, I love my JT's. PE pants are okay, but for $150 i expect perfection. Empire makes thinner pants with good protection. They are not too baggy and come with a microfiber cloth attached to the pocket . I'd say JT's or Empire

Bah, you guys are lame... Smokin' makes the best pants around, if you want speed. They've got nothing but a slot for kneepads, and a velcro waist. Invert's new cheapo pants (Prevail?) are super-streamlined, too.

Other things to consider if going for snake- play hopperball, and pick your shots. That pack is adding a solid .4s to your 40-m time, based purely on studies with sprinters. Considering the snake is closer than 40m, so you have more acceleration and less time to build momentum, it's probably a solid .3 to your 'into snake' time. Same with a heavy gun, heavy tank, and heavy hopper. Try switching to a Revvy or Ricochet, 45/4500 Ninja, and wear lighter shoes to help reduce weight and shave time. An ounce on your shoes it a huge issue. Look into track flats with risers and blanks instead of spikes.

DYE are freakin HEAVY. Eclipse are pretty bad too... Empire are a bit lighter. JT Pro are heavy, JT Team are slightly better. Smoking are best, though, and they are impossible to wear out.

Running shorts are a good choice.


If you can, go to a store and get a feel for how heavy some of the different pants are. I use dye C7's but they are pretty heavy. Granted, I got them dang cheap too.

T-Freak. I know that Baggy is better, but won't that slow me down when I need the speed?

I almost got a pair of the Empire stuff, but then I thought I would ask around first.

Most of the empire pants are REALLY heavy and thick just fyi.

Frankly though dont worry about the pants plenty of teams play with pants that are "heavy" knowing when and how to slide as well as the lanes to follow are much more important then .5 of a second of increased speed.

What are your pants of choice then Teddy?

...and what are these "smoking" pants. I have never heard of them. Googling now.

Hardly, especially the new ones. They're so heavy

JT CARGOS and KHAKIS are light as hell. SP Fighters are as well. Protos are ok.

I wear empire contacts, sort of bulk, very big on me which means lots of bounce. And I pretty much play snake every game, I have no problem with them. If you're worried about getting shot off the break don't worry, it's going to happen. No matter what pants you are wearing.

I wear Jt cargos or bdu pants...bdu pants are light and durable and they look good with all my jerseys...same goes for the cargos.

I personally own dye, so, proto, evil, jt, chronic, pb junkie, and empire pants...I think I may have forgotten one or two though but yea I have basically used every pant on the market in the past few years and unless im required for a team I always wear bdu or jt cargos they are just amazing.
