Ghost Ranger is right. The gap is meant to mimic the M16/AR-15 look, complete with the gap.

Regarding the plastic rails: the machined rails from JCS are incredibly good and a bit more expensive. SpecOps can sell you just a single JCS machined aluminum rail if you're going to use a foregrip.

No. The reason is the actual, curved flatline barrel is not ported. No noise comes from the sides of the flatline barrel (inside the shroud), the noise only comes out the barrel. This could be why the flatline is so loud.*

The flatline shroud is just a cover over a solid piece of metal, the flatline barrel itself.

*Before anyone jumps on me about my "flatline is so loud" comment: my flatline is my main A5 barrel. I love it for its range and flat trajectory but it's not a quiet barrel.
Maintainence" should be routine. (cleaning and lubrication) In all fairness, most "maintainence" " problems" can be avoided by getting it set-up right and leaving it alone. (true for most any paintgun) Something that I have learned over the years it that, "The more that you mess with it, the more you will have to mess with it."

oh okay. I was thinking the Fog forgrip could be mounted to any barrel. Its only made for the Flatline?

*sheepish grin*

My first post to this topic, responding to Dream of Nullification's query, is why I shouldn't work in the hot sun and then go online, late at night and run my mouth on the forums. <_< You see, I saw "F.O.G.," read "F.O.G.," and thought "flatline shroud."

From previous discussions, my understanding is the F.O.G. will not work on flatlines. So, my previous post is, well, completely irrelevent and off-topic. Stupid, too.

My apologies to Dream of Nullification and others who took the time to read it.

no it wont work with a flatline b/c they both use the same system to mount on your gun. Thats how the F.O.G. is free floating it connects to the A5 like a flatline does

I think the F.O.G. rail is great. The only problem I had was with the adapter. I had to put some duct tape around it to make it fit snug. It looks great with the 18" Interceptor and Dishka Suppressor.

It is 7 1/2" long. That is measuring from the front of the adapter.

Personally i would go with the raider. I have one and its durable and long lasting. I did get to try a F.O.G. and i didnt like it as much as the raider thats just my opion though
