me and my guys use Motorola t6000 series radios... there a bit out dated (14 channels 38 sub codes) we like them because they are small and easy to carry..

I purchased a firefox ear/throat mic a few years ago.. and now i barely recieve transmissions.. and im told that its hard to hear.. (cause its a throat mic thats the reason why and im the only one with that)

we are looking to get new radios.. ones that are easy on the wallet.. with good accesories..

were thinking about going with MIDLAND radios we found them for $100 they come with ear piece/mics charging stand 2 radios and 2 rechargeable bats.

Anyone else use these??

I use the Midland radios you are talking about and love them. The boom mics they come with work pretty well, I have upgraded to an ear bud from www.planetheadset.com. Another one of my teammates uses a throat mic. The throat mics are hit and miss though, they work on one of my teammates but no one else. Eventually the rechargeable battery packs will stop taking a charge, but you can use regular AA batteries which is what we do.

The Midland radios say they are good for something like 27 miles, but you'll only get a solid 3/4 mile out of them (plenty for any scenario I've played)

My only complaint is that when I bought them they were $75 for the pair (two years ago), I saw them two days ago for the $100 you're talking about.

Peace,
BT

well im sure if we just got the radios they would be cheaper but the pack that comes with everything saves in the long run..

If you're serious - get out of the GMRS/FRS range & look for some good VHF or UHF dedicated radios. You don't need to worry about landing on someone else's frequency & they work incredibly well.

yea i found some uhf / vhf radios for like $60 a piece in a catalog my company gets..

I like FRS cause alot of other people use them including refs..

most the time with my 2nd radio i listen to refs.. comes in handy when they want to move the other teams spawn point up... maaan that was a heck of a game..
