Kinda off topic and not meaning to highjack this topic or anything, but have you guys seen the new T4?! 14 round clip-fed rifle that takes the new First Strike rounds!

The real complaint I have about the TPX is that, when it does work, it's a really, REALLY nice gun. Hell, I'm even in Tippmann's TPX promo video from D-Day saying that I'd switch my T-8 for one. :P Of course, said promo only involved shooting it, no chance to dissemble, change mags or CO2.

And that's my complaint with the TPX. It feels lighter and tighter then the Tac-8 and it shoots just as well if not better. Shooting it is all unicorns and rainbows...it's just that all the time inbetween is like eating a turd sammich.

I don't know if anyone mentioned this as I've only skimmed this thread but didn't tippman fix the puncturing problem?

From what I've heard, they've fixed that on the newer ones...but the mags still munch paint, the CO2 is still near-impossible to change without being empty and disassembly still sucks.

when i got my CO2 upgrade kit, it came with a new cap and a new puncture pin assembly.

Now of course only time i'm using co2 is when i'm using it as a back up otherwise i'll be using it with the remote setup and of course a hard shelled paint (which is the field paint at one field and another local field allows non field paint for an extra fee.)

Maybe it's the crazy detroiter in me, but i have never considered tippmann guns hard to take apart, clam shell aside. Takes me about 15 min to strip and clean and rebuild my tpx, which i learned how to do after feeding it some year old paint.

Not that many people talk about it because it is not that good. It is decent. In fact I think the only way it could get better is if the puncture mechanism, you know, actually worked.

Suddenly paying more for a marker and mags makes sense. Proud owner of two Tac 8's

I had a Tac 8.

Like holding a Pepsi can, the grip was way too big and not comfortable.

Now I have a TPX. I like it.

I called Tippmann tech support and they are sending all the updated parts for it FREE.

And I traded for it, didnt buy it.

I just wonder if Tiberius Arms customer service is that good.

Guess I'll never find out because I wasnt fond of their pistol at all.

It is. If not better.

But then again, they didn't release a junk pistol without enough testing to iron out issues resulting in them having to release updated parts to get the pistol actually functional...

i have a TPX and works great, it has the co2 puncture upgrade and i polished all the internals and use the tech-t gun-sav in it, i get just under 4 mags out of it and i rarely chop a ball and it is never in the mag. it chewed up the bolt o-ring a couple times before i polished it but now it works fine.
"hey radar, where are they?" "splat!!" "never mind...."

Running a Test with an external Air tank on remote, using Exotic Sportz "Fireball" paint in 50 degree weather, at a 50-60 ft range, and i had no breaks due the loader. I ran a good 80 rounds during the test.

Mental note don't post when half sleeping, beyond that.

Other comments at the 50Ft+ range in the hands of a non paintballer (friend of mine) kept to a nice 1ft target zone, All with the short stock barrel.

Now that i know the type of paint required i'll be using it next time i pistol only, since of the two fields i'd go to one uses Fireball brand, and the other allows limited Byop.

I still have mine, mostly because it was a gift and my parents wouldn't let me sell it. I finally got my upgrade kit, (it only took 3 months) and after much cussing and anger I finally got it in good. I have put a few 12 grams it seems to be working, but I refuse to judge it yet. This is the most testing I can really do when at home, not playing.

On a side note, I thought Tippmann had learned their lesson about small peices of clear plastic and small springs that like to come out when you are trying to put the darn thing back together.

All I know is, that I have never used a Tac 8. I ordered my TPX day 1, it didn't ship for 8 months due to it not being in stock. And when it was, I got an updated one (probably a blessing I had to wait). All I needed to do was adjust the regulator and kaboom. 24 mags later, 0 breaks. <---yep. NO breaks. 24 mags (and counting). I almost get 4 mags per 12 gram. and if I only load 7 balls a mag I get all 4 mags no problem. I wish all others luck with their TPX's but I know that mine will be with me for a long long time.

No problems with mine - I only got it for my birthday in Feb, but everything seems to be working smoothly. And yes, great for those of us with small hands!
