Hmm... didn't think changing pump stroke was that easy.

I should try that with the Phantom :P

The phantom pump stroke will never be close to (for instance) a CCM etc.
That doesn't change my love for the garg though. I could care less about having a feather light/ultra smooth pump stroke on a gun like that.
Cockers, I like a nice pump stroke though. Not sure why my mind works that way haha.

Anyone around here own a DSG?

I would imagine changing the springing (even on both) changes the efficiency though... need the hammer to strike with a certain speed, correct? Hammer weight doesn't change.

Of course.

I hear the old lapco internals do wonders as well. Been trying to find a set. May just get mine milled.

Correct. Changing and balancing springs is a job within itself. It can take many tries to find the right combination. If you are trying for effeciency it can take even longer as you need to log FPS and amount of shots you get per 12ie or tank to compare to other spring settings. If you are just going for light pump stroke, then just lighten your hammer spring and yeah, probably need to lighten your valve spring too

From what I believe I read you want a somewhat heavier valve spring for some reason for efficiency...

I don't really mind the pump stroke to be honest - I tried it without the return spring the other night though and it was good til I aired it up. Decided to put that back on :P I don't even know how many shots I get with it to be honest...can't really be sure without a chrono and decent temps though.

With the Phantom, if you are going to try and respring for softer pump and better shot counts you also need to look at a fluted hammer.

As well as removing the tip of the TPC to accomidate a less restricted air flow to the ball.
That sloted head that you use to adjust the velocity...remove it and you get this...

I have heard claims of 50 shots per 12ie by doing all this work. I keep meaning to give it a go....but mine works so well why mess with it!?

YAY!

What did you order?

And lego, when I come home next (hopefully around a decent sized scenario or pump tourney game) we need to play somewhere. That way you can check out the garg and my new toy (which dukie will be creating in the near future) :D

two freak inserts for me newly bored barrels thanks to bryce larson.(
both a phantom barrel and my tac one barrel, Which should be about the same as sex now that I can get a good underbore in it, Should help efficiency numbers also a slight amount

cdrink a heavier valve spring would make the valve shut faster, and require more air pressure to go through the marker in a shorter amount of time, and would improve efficiency but make it really loud...I would assume.

ORDERED MY CCM 86 frame and the email from them was quite nice and straight forward :) 88 dollars for the frame and usps priority mail from cali can't be beat :P
