I just wanna know if it is at all possible for this mod, instead of having the blowback system on a 98 or A5, that you actually have to re-cock the marker after every shot. reason i'm asking is i'm trying to make my 98 into a bolt action marker. Reasons behind it, i play sniper, (just cause that word was mentioned, does not give you permission to start a flame fest, it will not be tolerated in this thread!) and i like to take my time with each shot. and i think by removing the blowback, it will quiet down the marker vastly, and increase the air efficiency at the same time. I have an old marker that just collects dust now, so that will be my test subject, as it just sits around for parts now. (not that i really need them on a tippmann, few if any problems on em since i bought em 5 years ago) Any knowledgeable help would be appreciated!

Removing the "blowback" capabilities of a tippmann marker

hhhmmmm.... that would certainly be an interesting project. It seems to me though that it might me more worth your while (and money) to simply buy a pump marker as this has no "blowback assembly" and is certainly a gun that requires patience to operate.
But man that would really be crazy to have a bolt action tippmann. you have to do some crazy milling to the body in order to fit in the bolt and level, on top of this the bolt would have to be milled out so that it had a channel the air could travel through to launch the ball. this would resemble a stacked tube spyder were the bolt has a hollow section that allows the air from the lower striker/valve system to move through it. but the body of a tippmann wont allow a stacked design so you would have to relocate the valve or have a hose transfer the air from the valve to the bolt......
ya i would say buy a pump.

agreed. It will be cheaper in the long run and work 100x better. The tippmann will always be super loud and ineffeicient, even if you remove the blow back. It is just inherit in the design.
Buy a nice cheap pump, and mod that into a Bolt action, or find a nice Sheridan K2, that is already bolt action, and buy that...though they run $400-$600 in cost, even though they are about 20+ years old.
You can mod other pumps into bolt action, sheridan is the easiest. But it still takes time and effort
