For those of you who have done so, could you help those of us that are looking to do so. the problem i'm having is i wanna paint my scope, but i want a clean finish at the ends, not having a small black ring from the tape i used to stop my lens from getting paint on it. Whats the best method of doing this? Obviously i don't want no paint on my lenses, so not covering them is just not an option!

I dunno- maybe tape the lens then take an x-acto or razor blade to trim around the edge and cut off the excess. This would take a steady hand... but that's how I would prob try.

Ok I gave it a shot...

Number of downloads: 2The first two pics are obviously of the tape. I placed some on and used an x-acto knife to cut around the opening. If your doing this kind of sight, don't forget to tape over the LED that projects onto the lens. Since I was just doing this to see how well it worked, I just went with krylon ultra-flat olive color. I might get bored and add a camo pattern later... Anyway in my opinion this is a clean look, but needs patience and a steady hand. Also make sure the blade you use is SHARP! Mine has been used some and wasn't as sharp as I liked and therefore took more pressure to properly cut the tape- I almost cut myself a couple times because of this. But just make sure the tape seals and you should have no problem with getting paint on the lens. Don't forget to prep also! I also used a primer. Hope this helps.
