Looking to replace my old Proshield,

Right now i'm considering the Save Phace Hoorah or the VForce Grill (likely in olive or reverse)

I tried on a Grill at a local shop, and it felt a bit small compared to my proshield, but it did fit my sunglasses.

It also felt a bit to soft, again compared to my proshield, would the Save Phace, have the same roomyness in the eye area?

What one should i get? or why should i consider getting one or the other.

thanks in advance

I am in love with V-force Profilers, so I'm a bit biased. The Profiler's are a tad bit "soft," though, so may not be what you are looking for, but I highly recommend trying them. The Save Phace, as I understand it, are very sturdy and "firm." I'm not a fan of the Grillz. I think they are ugly and too small (as you said). Another possibility is JT masks, they have some "firm" masks and some rather nice ones.

Should also add that i have a rather large skull, (i have problems finding non-baseball cap style hats to wear)

Define large. What size are you? I know my V-force Vantage is almost a tight fit for me and I have a small head. How did the Grillz fit on you?

with Grillz you don't need to wear sunglasses. Buy the Photochromatic lens. It changes from Dark to light when you walk into brightness, and dims when you walk into dark, shadowy places. Best lens on the market hands down. Why no one else buy Vforce does them i do not understand. I won't wear my grillz without one. Better then sunglasses by a long shot

Well that's good to know. Can you get Photo chromatic lenses for all V-Force masks? Or just the Grillz?

The Profiler lenses come in photochromatic as well. The Profiler does have a slightly larger profile than the Grill & it incorporates more hard plastic in the mask than the completely flexible Grill. Try a Profiler on & see for yourself. The Save Phace masks have a notoriously small profile, moreso than the Grill.

I don't mean to add in my own question and steal the attention of this thread, but I think it fits here so I'm gonna ask the question:

Which mask is the best for siting a scope (sits closest to your face)?

A mask like the Grill that is completely flexible is going to be better than a Profiler which has rigid plastic combined w/ the soft rubber. It'll "smash" to your face as you position the stock to sight down the scope/red-dot/iron sights. That being said, I use a riser w/ my red-dot & have no problem using my Longbow stock.

So the Grillz is completely flexible? How is the peripheral/regular view? I really like the view on the Profilers.

I remember seeing a video online when they were first released, a guy had is lense out to demonstrate how flexible it was: he basically twisted the mask into a pretzel shape.

I haven't tried them on, but from everything I've read (or heard at the field) is the field of view is basically the same, just slightly less w/ the Grill but hardly noticable.

Theyre not as flexible as a Flex. THe plastic on the side keeps them from takin freak bounces.

So best option is go to the local shop and test out the masks? (sadly they don't have save phace here in Metro Detroit)?
