How would I go about painting this particular marker? Would you recommend leaving rails black? Do I have to block any part of regulator with painter's tape?

For the rails depends what you want i left mine black and only the venting thing on the bottem should be covered. then just cover the other parts that paint can get into and paintaway :ghillie:
If you are 18 or older and pay for your own gear put this on your sig!!!!

I would tape off all of the moving parts (i.e.: bolt, hoses (yes it moves), and inside the barrel/bolt) and use a very thin coat of texture paint. Texture paint is mostly used to paint statues or faux rocks. You can find it at Lowes or Home Depo for pretty cheap. I used a light tan statue texture paint on my 98C and it looks really good. It only took me about an hour to paint and dry it hanging (important). I get compliments on it and people swear they don't see it in broad day light. :ghillie:
Good luck in making your SP1 look sick.

I have one in the car right now, I will try to re-member to pull it out and measure it tomorrow.

I don't think they used more than a can of spray for the 3-4 walls they made, though they were just painting the stone 'lines'
