I've recently discovered a way to create customized decals that are durable, inexpensive, and detailed and all without having to repaint the whole gun or part. By using a specially durable vinyl I've found that I can both sandblast and paint over a specific area on top of anodize with amazing detail.

You may have seen the sweet designs etched out by lasers on customized tourney style markers, well I can do much the same but not have to stick with just an off white but almost any color you can you can think of.

Here is a project I recently did for a customer. These are two Tac One bodies with a customized decal sandblasted and painted with no harm done to the rest of the body.

Aren't those Tac-1 bodies? Eh whatever, anyways would you be able to do the complex designs that you can get with laser ingravers like the text and cool designs and stuff?

No it's not vinyl. He uses vinyl as a mask to protect the areas not to be painted. you come up with the design, BB inverts the image and prints it on the vinyl, cuts the image out and wraps the part. The exposed areas is hit with a sand blaster revealing the bare metal underneath. It then gets cleaned and painted. It's similar to how they make colored lapel pins, the pins have small hallows that get filled with an epoxy paint.
