Over the past few weeks I've had the opportunity to mess around with and test the new launcher made by Metadyne Industries.
Now I've used many launchers over the years...many of the homemade variety...JCS...Scepter (I was literally the "poster child" for Scepter)...but I have NEVER been more impressed with a launcher than I am with this one!
There are so many advantages with this launcher. I'll mention a few of them and then add a more detailed review later.
- It's much easier to load than other launchers
- There's no wasted air like with other launchers
- Relatively light weight
- Versatility is amazing! With a stock and grip it works beautifully as a stand alone launcher but can transfer into the best on gun, under barrel launcher I've ever used!
I have to say, there is simply no reason to buy any other launcher. This launcher beats them all in every category and has similar pricing. I'm gonna be using this for a long long time!

The one I have for testing isn't...but Scott sent me pics today of one he had specially engraved with MOATI.

How is the loading faster? Is it a different mechanism or just more streamlined?

Unlike a JCS you don't have to open it up but unlike a Scepter, it just loads so much easier. I'd say you could load and fire 5-6 shots in as much time as it would take to fire 2 shots on either the JCS or Scepter.

I have the under the barrel version on the way and can not wait til I get it. If specops is planning on carrying these, is there plans for grenade making kits that will work better than a homemade?

Our team has some possible plans on purchasing this sometime next year. The videos of it were just jaw dropping. I have never, shot a launcher yet...BUT just watching the ease of use this thing has is just awesome. I'll be looking forward to a updated review MOATI.

Finally got it in my hands today and the pics are below...needless to say it is a thing of beauty!! The nice thing about this launcher is that they didn't scimp...EVERYTHING is metal save for some of the internals....even the safety is aluminum. The anodizing they gave it has a rubbery feel to it and it definitely has some heft to it. I've ordered the air fittings for it so I can get everything attached and I might have to buy a different regulator for my marker in the future so the launcher can sit on the picatinny rail all the way but it is attached really well and there is only 2/5" that isn't connected to the rail. I'll be buying a few more things over the next 2 weeks to give the marker a more pleasing look such as a mock silencer and a stock but this puppy is almost complete!
I got the laser engraving and I named it "Warmonger"
The launcher comes with a macroline fitting....which seems odd since it will be going on Tippmanns and other markers that run on Co2 and don't work well with macro. You can easily change this out for a braided line

I definitely got in on the presale of the Metadyne launcher. Very compact, looks great, lightweight and adaptable to nearly every mounting type. Recharge rate is faster than you can load it. For a test, I launched one straight up and I could fire 4 more before the first rocket hit the ground.
Just make sure the regulator is not screwed all the way in when you get it in the mail. I was excited about shooting it. Blew the safety o-ring on the fourth shot. Now I know how to change it out... Hopefully Metadyne is shipping the launchers with the regulator set in the mid range instead of max pressure. lol
Long gone are my PVC and steel pipe days. I hope they make a magazine system for the launcher.

Here is a pic of when I first attached the havoc to my marker. I have since reconfigured the setup though. I changed out the micro fitting for the hard line and I used a drop forward to be able to run the launcher and the marker off of one air source. I am planning to remove the drop forward when I can get the fittings I want.
I was at a game and dry fired the havoc when I was in an open field and it sound like a 12 ga went off with the echo. I got the attention of a few people real quick.
Is specops going to carry grenade kits?

Does anyone here also have the breech mod for this? I've got some questions about how to install it, since the instruction sheet was all of five sentences and I don't want to screw anything up.
