I am finally getting my second team together (farewell Nick, Zeke and Bryan, off in the speedball court). My problem is, I never oversaw what my old team bought. Now my new teammates want me to tell them exactly what to buy. I think this is a good starting kit for a dagger. Am I right?

You forgot to add Body Bag to the list of New Dagger gear. :wacko:

Other than that I'd look at a better marker. Like a ramped Ion or something fast along the E line of markers.

make sure its a light gun, along with everything else, or else your dagger is going to tire easily from running around with a heavy setup

I run a light vest [either something like a Recon or the Dagger vest] and an ICD ProMaster. Out of all the positions, the Dagger is the most likely to need a traditional speedball gun because they are much lighter and most of the time, much faster. You need to be able to move very quickly as a Dagger. Holding a lot of paint isn't necessary - presenting a tiny profile and being FAST [moving fast, shooting fast] is all that matters.

Your setup depends entirely on your budget. If I had no restrictions I'd run a DM9. But if you only have a few hundred dollars to spend on gear, you have to buy a cheaper marker, maybe run CO2 instead of HPA, etc. It's hard to make recommendations without knowing the budget of the team involved. But lighter & faster is the key when buying dagger gear.

You can get a good setup for that price:

SP Vibe- $150
V-Force Profiler- $60
NXE 3pod Harness- $13 (Much cheaper than vest and works well enough for someone new)

Then get a cheap HPA or Co2 and your set.

No offense but mandating what gun your team gets IMO is a bad idea. I figure if they don't have anything either have them rent, or have them buy the cheapest piece of crap they can find. Can't really tell what you like in a gun or what you don't like until having played a little.

whatever seems like it would go more comfortably with your style of play, i have a dagger-7 vest from specops in multicam, and i feel naked without it... its all personal preference, when you ask questions like this, it does give you more reassurance, but other people are just giving you their personal prefs for answers
