Ok, I know I am going to regret all the music in the pages, but here it goes.

first, you need the music file (or webcast) to be on the internet. For that, it has to have a http:// adresss.
All you have to do is upload your file onto a webspace server that allows offsite linking and voila, the file is online.

Now, here is what I have put on my page:
<embed src="http://www.ifrance.com/TuxMan/allwant.mid" autostart="false" height="15" width="200">

"embed" here means : Ok, I graft a media file in my page here.
"src" is for the source, the http:// adress I talked about.
"autostart" is a value that is either true(on) or false(off). I set it to false so the music will not start automatically. I let people the choice to hear it or not
"height" and "width" are there so the quicktime buttons are well centered and to prevent some white spaces.

There are other properties that can be set too, but they are a little numerous to show here.

As for the customs avatars and signature, this is done with a photo editing program such as photoshop or Paint Shop Pro. Photoshop CS can be found at your local specialized software merchant, or you can find cheap "second hand copy" on the internet. Paintshop Pro on the other hand has a free 90 day trial on their web site.
Many tutorials for both those programs can be found on the internet. I won't post actual guide to modify an image because the limits are up to your imagination.

Only one thing. Large midi, wav or mp3 files means your page loads up THAT MUCH SLOWER.

It' skinda cool to have singing pages, sure. But for some people like dialup users, it's annoying ot have to wait 2-3 minutes to look at pics you put up there.

Tygers right, if you are going to put up a large music file PLEASE make it so it doesnt have autostart. luckily for me i have DL accelerator so i can cruise the pages while the music dls.

Question: How do I bring in a new picture for my signiture? Either I've lost all my computer skills (most likely) or the computer is simplely refusing to work. I've used the ragular banner as a guidline so i wouldn't use up too much space.

I know i changed it after about 3 hours. It got boring so i put up a mix of Rammstein "Du Hast" and star craft quotes.

I use imageshack.us to upload my pics. its also free. simply go to the web site and use the register option at the top of the page to start a new account. It will ask for your email and once you hit submit a confermation email will be sent to you. At the Very bottom of this email there is a link back to ImageShack and now you can use the browse button to locate and upload your pics from your hard drive. Also make sure you have checked the option to "start a new gallery with this image" (only for your first photo) And thats it. it will give you the URL code to post the pic either in an email on a forum or even as an avatar.

Thanks chumbawamba.

Novaghost; i looked and looked and couldnt find anyplace to upload the songs i wanted off my hard drive either. I had to use lycos.com/music. look up the song you want and find a link that works. right click the link to download the song(not to simply play the song) and instead of hitting "save as" hit properties. look at the source for the song. Sometimes you can simply copy and paste the http site they have directly into the code instead of trying to upload your own song. BUt be careful, im not realy sure if this is legal.

Edit: im still tryin to figure out that hole playlist thing myself. ill let you know when i figure it out.
