Yeah, Java can be frustrating to work with. I'm not a big fan.

<font size="1">words go here</font>

<font color="red">red words go here</font>

You can combine those two to get:

<font size="1" color="red">words go here</font>

Font sizes range from 1 to 7.

Now that I'm done making fun of you geeks...I'll act a lil bit like one...

How do you make things move across teh screen? I remember on a proboards(dont say anything, its free) all you'd have to do is [MOVE]TEXT[/MOVE] or somthing like that. Would HTML work like
<move>TEXT</move>
?

It would be a marquee tag instead of move to make it Marquee, whee! wouldn't it?

OK, now you have struck my interest. HOw do you make this work?

so far ive got the source code for the play button but its still missing the "directory/filename.mp3".

<EMBED SRC="Directory/file name.mp3" volume="65" height="27" width="45" controls="console" align="left" autostart="true" loop="2"></embed>

I want to play a song that is currently on my hard drive. Now from what i know so far is that this HTML wont work unless the file is uploaded onto the special ops server for this to work. And im not really sure i can do that.

So how the heck can i make this work?

How do you guys make the custom avatars? Specifically, the ones that look like modified Brigade symbols? I'm interesed in the avatar and the signature custom jobs. Please help. I am completely computer illiterate right now.
The purpose of the ninja is to flip out and kill people.

Ok, I know I am going to regret all the music in the pages, but here it goes.

first, you need the music file (or webcast) to be on the internet. For that, it has to have a http:// adresss.
All you have to do is upload your file onto a webspace server that allows offsite linking and voila, the file is online.

Now, here is what I have put on my page:
<embed src="http://www.ifrance.com/TuxMan/allwant.mid" autostart="false" height="15" width="200">

"embed" here means : Ok, I graft a media file in my page here.
"src" is for the source, the http:// adress I talked about.
"autostart" is a value that is either true(on) or false(off). I set it to false so the music will not start automatically. I let people the choice to hear it or not
"height" and "width" are there so the quicktime buttons are well centered and to prevent some white spaces.

There are other properties that can be set too, but they are a little numerous to show here.

As for the customs avatars and signature, this is done with a photo editing program such as photoshop or Paint Shop Pro. Photoshop CS can be found at your local specialized software merchant, or you can find cheap "second hand copy" on the internet. Paintshop Pro on the other hand has a free 90 day trial on their web site.
Many tutorials for both those programs can be found on the internet. I won't post actual guide to modify an image because the limits are up to your imagination.
