Some guns are simply air hogs and really need a high volume to keep going...first one that jumps to mind...Shocker. They need a bunch o air to shoot fast. And shoot fast they can.
Then you run into guns that use less air, but really have the ability to shoot lots o paint. And if your HPA reg recharges a bit slow you will see shootdown. I rarely get above 15 bps so I have yet to see this as an issue.
But when we did some max ROF tests on Cyborgs we could easily see the cheaper built Regs strugle. It was that was noticable above the 20 bps range.
So...unless you plan on funding your paint budget with a life of crime you should be fine. Honestly, most paintballers rarely break the 15 bps range when they play. The exceptions to this rule are the guys who run a mode and really just want to see what the gun can do. When they see just how much paint they use typically the mode changes to a more affordable option and shootdown goes away!
