I think with a solid qualifier behind it and a solid date set at the beginning of the year, DZ could be a very successful field location.

There are also a lot of quals pretty close together in that area.. maybe cut the weakest one out? Once you get 12 guys driving out of state for a paintball event, adding another 200 miles isn't a big deal.

Says the guy with no car and dubious driving skills at best.

But you have a good point, I would rather see really good events with huge turn outs but have to travel a little farther to get there than lots little events, though if the prizes are the same next year lots of little events is fine with me. :)

Whycome is KC and NY not updated on the national rankings list on www.playsppl.com? Heck, KC isn't even listed, or is it listed under a different heading?

Sorry, there is a bit of a time delay on the playsppl.com website. Kansas is actually listed as Missouri/Oklahoma (the previously planned locations). Especially from the outside looking in, I can see why it's confusing.

Yeah, GA isn't up because I had that little piece of the website built after that event. I thought it would be a cool way to track what teams did what.

They're both there. Look again.

Spartan03, that was my old home field in your signature! Until I moved...

So what's the outlook as far as the same location for the Kansas qualifier?

Well it sounds like the SPPL would like to come back and after talking to DropZone's owner I know he wants the SPPL back but I don't think it's going to happen unless a lot more teams show interest and make some commitment. I know part of it was that many people didn't realize that the Oklahoma qualifier was cancelled and had been moved. Then there was another change of venue from a Missouri field to the field (DropZone) where it ended up being.

That said, now that Dropzone has been established as a good venue, well reffed, and and a ton of fun to play..

getting teams out (especially with a set date from the beginning of the year) shouldn't be as hard.

I'd imagine at least 3 from CO, possibly up to 5.

I'm just gonna "assume" that we could get our whole team assembled and show up next year as well. There's no way we could screw it up again, and not show up to a game THIS close to us.

So I have a couple of questions about the Kansas City points.
  • Did Black Light Company get Masters Division prizes, but have their points go to their Rookie Division standings?
  • Shouldn't Ghost Recon have received 100 Masters Division points (not 90) if BLC had their 100 points go to Rookie Division?

I was wondering that myself Splatter. It's one of those sticky kind of situations. If they keep the 100 points in the rookie class then we should get 100 in the Masters. That would move us up to 8th in the National Rankings but if you do that then that means the prizes got divided up wrong. So I would say their 100 points should be moved into the Masters category. That would bump us down one spot in the National Rankings but then no one could complain about the prizes getting divided up wrong. Whatever happens I guess it doesn't really matter too much to me as I have some things keeping me from making it to Nationals. My team mates on the other hand.........I don't know if they'll be concerned about it.

Well.....if BLC took home any prizes, that tells me that they actually played as a 'Masters' team and should receive 'Masters' points. I'm hoping that isn't the case because we really want a rematch with them in Georgia. So it sounds like there were 3 teams that finished the tournament in KC, so this is what I was expecting to see......

1st place Elite - Almost Famous
1st place Masters - Ghost Recon
1st place Rookie - BLC

Now if BLC wanted to play Masters, that's fine. But doesn't that mean they get Masters points and now are ineligible to compete at Nationals in the Rookie division? Like I said before, I hope that isn't the case because we would like a rematch with them.

I tried to clarify this with Schloob, but we've been playing phone tag the past couple of days. He's in Michigan now, so I'll wait for him to get home before talking to him.
