Agreed... If you have a great pointman, snipers shouldn't be too much of an issue. Read up on information about what a pointman does here, and like Knight Hiro said, TRAIN!

you thought about employing your sniper to counter snipe? get him doing some ghost flanking and using his field craft skills for hides etc, to find possible sniper hides adn to counter ambush?
dont make people a priority, who are only making you an option
