the Hammer only qualifys as a Hammer if it has two or more barrels i believe..but why does it matter? these Positions shouldent keep you from playing how you like

Yea I think I could say so, But a hammer doesn't have to feed as fast as a tippmann A-5 doub-troub just aslong as it's fast and keeps heads down your fine.

nobodys head is up when i unload with this thing.unfortunately my hopper empties quick:( why does it matter how many barrels it has if it shoots fast enough?

You'd be a broadswordsman. You got one barrel. You don't mention how much paint you bring or the size of your tank. When I let go with my Minion nobody sticks their head up either but I'm no hammer.

you just asked and answered your own question..... we can shoot up to 30 balls per second for a SOLID 30 seconds, and stretch it out ALOT longer if we take it slow. you'd be lucky to get 6 seconds of solid shooting without reloading. i carry 1,000 rounds on the marker, PLUS 19 pods of paint. and i wear a scuba tank. although you sound like a good solid broadsword, i am still the big fish in the fiwerpower pond. now when a quadzilla or minigun or triton show up, i support them. it's a reverse food chain kinda thing... the largest gun gets the most support.

i prefer broadsword and i see what you mean by bigger gun gets support. but at my local field i have one of the best guns so i play hammer. i think it has to do with your gun and where your playing

well not really. i have an f8 that i can shoot 25 bps with, but when i use that i dont look at it as a hammer. a broadsword yes, if i give close support fire. but not even close to my twins. i can keep heads down with it, but not to the extent of the DT.

and this is coming from someone who OWNS one.

I am a fairly new Hammer, having only played the position 4 times. I feel that in order to call yourself a Hammer, you have to play with the Twins. There is no experience like it. Sure the DM6 is fast, but its not capable of doing the job of the DT. We are slow, lumbering, weighed down players who are , coincidently, the most popular players on our team.

I was called to cover one side of the field so we could send a runner for the flag. Heres the vid:

That is how I play. Long, sustained bursts far enough away (the 2 bounces on my leg at the end), but close enough to keep that side of the field busy. You see the runner at the end as well. Sure, its what a Broadsword does, but the Twins do it better, faster, and splattier.

i would consider a fast gun like the DM6 a good heavy gun since specops dosent make the DT anymore you might have two barrels but really its just shooting twice the amount of paint to do the same job one hopper can do

try soldering two Virtue boards together with two DM6s and youve got yourself a setup that could be more akin to be mounted on a tank due to the amount of paint capable of being flung out of it

I say just get out there and play, don't worry about the positions. It makes you limit yourself to what you "think you should do" by the position you are playing. Just get out there and play paintball!
